Hi Ladies

I'd just like to write a disclaimer first: although there is a chance, I'm not convinced I actually could be pregnant. I haven't taken a test and I don't want to any time soon as I'd rather just receive a BFN in the form of my period if I'm not! Also I have a short cycle so even though I'm late I'm not late by the standard of a woman who has a normal length cycle.

My cycle has always been pretty reliable at 21 Days. The most I've ever been late by is 2-3 days and that doesn't happen often. I'm currently 7 days late. I haven't had any spotting at all this cycle. I'm really 'wet' down there and usually before my period I dry up a lot. Throughout the past few days I keep having moments where I become really really wet and then I go to toilet to see if I'm bleeding and there's nothing there at all. I have no symptoms of anything really other than in past 24 hours I've had some light cramping which didn't last very long and it was accompanied by no spotting/bleeding. I've even been checking inside with my (clean) finger to see if there's a hint of blood and absolutely nothing.

I have a couple of OPKs from Poundland lying around which I never actually ended up using before. I read that OPKs can detect pregnancy but I'm not sure if that's true or not. There wasn't even a faint line. Absolutely nothing!
(I'm not willing to spend money on a pregnancy test until probably another week goes by without AF. I only trust clear blue and those are expensive!)

Has anybody experienced this before and a) just been really late or b) been pregnant?

I’ve experienced both, but that isn’t going to tell you whether you are pregnant or not, only a test can do that.

@Sausage, I don't think a test would give me an accurate result at this stage with my cycles being so short anyway.

Any idea what the OPK thing means? I've read some women say that's how they figured out they were expecting and some women say they show as negative on an OPK and they're X amount of weeks along. So I'm a bit confused on the significance of an OPK.

I wouldn’t use a OPK to try and detect pregnancy personally but I have heard from people on here that they turn positive if you are pregnant, I’ve never tried it. I’m not quite sure why you’d be testing yourself using OPK once you have confirmed you are pregnant either?

If you don’t think you are pregnant you’ve probably just got a late/missed period, it happens sometimes. If you still think you could be pregnant buy a cheapy test, you can get 3 for £1 in the pound shop and they work just fine.
