Laparoscopy

Hi All, really don't know whether this should be here or in health. I have been having incredibly painful periods for years and years. I have been given strong painkillers that don't touch the pain. I had a scan last year (both abdominal and infra-vaginal) and they found nothing to suggest fibroids or endo. I've been doing some research however that suggests the only way to diagnose endo is by laparoscopy.

I'm so so fed up of the pain every month (I can't work or move, feel sick and faint etc) that I'm wondering about asking for the procedure.

Secondary is that we are currently ttc and are on 7th cycle. While I understand that is by no means a long time, I'm now thinking should I ask for the laparoscopy? Regardless of the ttc issue I'm just so sick of the pain. I know they don't usually investigate until you have been ttc for a year but it isn't just the fertility issue it's the pain too.

Has anyone else got experience in this area?

I had a laparoscopy last June to investigate and remove an ovarian cyst.

By that time I'd been off contraception for 14 months. We were "winging it" so to speak but not actually trying for a baby but if it happened we'd have been fine.

Anyway long story short I had the surgery on June and they removed the cyst but also found adhesions caused by my c section and they cleared them.

8 weeks later I was pregnant, sadly had a mmc in October and now trying again.

The recovery isn't quick, I was kept in overnight and couldn't do much for 2 weeks so isn't an easy option ❤️
