Positive on a Sainsbury’s test

Hi all,

I’ve had 2 of these faint positive results on Sainsbury’s tests. They were in the afternoon. I’ve since googled and loads of people saying they’re unreliable. What do you think?

That’s 100% positive. I’ve had loads of false positives on these and they’re skinny and to one side. Congratulations!

Fraula · 17/03/2019 19:31

Looks positive to me!

Mokepon · 17/03/2019 19:32

Both my positives were Sainsbos tests.
Congratulations!!!

I’m going to have to buy a pink one to be sure. Eek!!!

You're definitely pregnant Smile

HettyStThomas · 17/03/2019 20:22

I'd say you're definitely pregnant. Congratulations.
Both of my positivities were with Sainsbury's tests. DS2 came up a very faint positive early so I have faith in them.

Best bet would be to go to the hospital or doctor and confirm it if your unsure. I’m sure the people on mumsnet can see the same lines your seeing - and seeing as this is I’m assuming your second test with this “unreliable” Sainsbury’s pregnancy test, I would suggest choosing another brand next time you decide to test to save the hassle of asking others if they can see the line that’s clearly there

They come in packs of two. And I didn’t know about false positives on these type of tests when I purchased them.

I asked as there may be traits of false positives, like a pp mentioned the vertical line was thin.

I don’t want to ask people in real life at this stage and thought this was the type of thing people ask on here.

Anyway, I’ve ordered a pink dye test now. I didn’t want to spend a lot today as thought the likelihood was a negative.

@CTLR Wow, that's a lot of negativity and poor advice. The doctor and hospital won't do anything in the UK. The doctor doesn't even confirm your pregnancy, they just refer you to the midwife if you get a positive test. Where exactly are you proposing she goes to hospital? Should she rock up at A&E demanding a pregnancy test? They'd send her straight home. The whole point of these boards is for advice and to support each other not try to belittle them.

@1234512345Meh congratulations!! It looks positive to me. If you are unsure maybe do a different test, but if no AF and a result like that it looks good to me.

CTRL · 17/03/2019 21:44

I wasn’t trying to be rude or belittle anybody but there are so many threads on this site of women asking if you can see a line on thier pregnancy test when it’s clearly obvious it’s a positive. And when I was pregnant, my doctor did confirm it with a test - surely they couldn’t refer you to a midwife if they aren’t sure your pregnant Confused. My advice was basically if your unsure - double check with a professional.

Michellebops · 19/03/2019 18:27

How did you get on op? Did you great again?

FWIW @CTRL I've never seen a gp to confirm a pregnancy. First appointment is directly with a community or practice midwife. They're happy if you have a positive hpt

1234512345Meh · 19/03/2019 21:22

Thanks for asking. 2 pink lines so I believe it now!
🤞🏼 all goes well x

I'm another one who never saw my GP. My surgery asked me to go pick up a pack from reception and I then called the midwives directly to arrange my booking in.

Congrats OP!

keepforgettingmyusername · 19/03/2019 23:09

@CTRL take it up with the posters who insist that a line on anything but a FRER is an evap , it makes people nervous of any positive result!

Michellebops · 20/03/2019 01:52

@1234512345Meh congratulations
