What do you count as Day 1?

Hi ladies - can I check what everyone counts as CD1?

I think I've seen somewhere that it's the first 'full' day of AF, ie when you wake up and it's your full period, not spotting. However I've come on middle of the day today, quite heavily, and it doesn't seem to make sense to me to say it isn't Day 1 of AF until tomorrow.

What do you think?

Thanks,
HC

I find this very confusing too as my period ALWAYS starts light, so I suppose spotting technically. Just as it does towards the end.
So I would have thought that it would make sense to count Day 1 as the first day of spotting as it 100% signals the start of my period (for me anyway.) But everywhere I read it seems to say first day of full flow.
It's only light for me for 1-2 days so I'm worried that my dates for O would be out if I'm counting the wrong Day 1...

Hopefully someone who knows more will be along soon.
