Mittelschmerz (Ovulation Pain) and TTC

Hi, so I have what I guess would be classed as Mittelschmerz (pain during ovulation)

Started after I had my one and only child (3 now) and went to a gynaecologist as GP thought it might be ovarian cysts but that was normal.

We are half thinking of trying for another baby, I´m over 40 now so I don't know if it will be successful or not but think this year is the last chance.

My question is: anyone else have this?
Did it affect you conceiving?
I know when I´m ovulating because I am in intense pain!

Any similar experiences would be great to here.

All I know is that there seems to be v little understanding of what it is! No-one seems to know if it's the pain of the ovary preparing to release the egg, or the actual moment it does, or the ovary recovering from it.

What I do know is I've always got it, but never knew what it was until ttc. I get it for a few hours every cycle, quite a sharp pain on one side, which then goes away.

I think it's quite normal, and have never heard that it could affect fertility. I'd try not to worry, though I know that's hard to do when trying to read the crazy things that our bodies are!

Similar here although I tried to time conception with the timing of the pain and my cycle dates. Unfortunately it really didn’t work and it took me up to 16 months at a time to conceive.
But the pain is intense and cyclical.
