Debating whether to splurge - I use opks but find them hard to read and be 100% sure I’m getting the right days
It’s a lot of money though so wondered whether people had had success with it?

I have one of these, it detects estrogen rise and the LH surge and displays it on a neat little calendar. It says ‘low’ ‘high’ or ‘peak’ as an indication of when your best chance is. It prompts you to test from CD 6 and every day there after until you hit the peak. It asks you to set a ‘test window’ so ensure you are testing roughly the same time each day, this is actually a right pain as I work both day and night shifts.

I’m unsure if I’m ovulating so I also purchased the advanced digital OPK stick looking things (so I wasn’t wondering if the monitor was broken!). The stick detects the exact same things as it turns out. You get a blank circle for ‘low’, a flashing face for ‘high’ and a solid face for ‘peak’.

If I were purchasing again I wouldn’t buy the monitor and would go straight to the advanced OPK. It’s cheaper and does the same thing pretty much except it doesn’t prompt you to test, you’ll have to remember that yourself which will be easy I guess as it’s all I can think about most of the time 😂

You have to buy refills for both each month, the average use is 10 sticks per cycle according to the instructions, if you have a long cycle you’ll want more sticks.

Oh, I tell a lie. The monitor also does a pregnancy test using a different stick. The digital OPK doesn’t do this I don’t think. It will prompt you to do this if you don’t log a period I think (this is my first month using it).

I use it and it’s absolutely amazing. I’ve also had ultrasound to confirm what the monitor said about ovulation.
If you want to save on sticks, once you see peak, down throw that stick and just keep using it until it tells you to stop testing because after day 1 of peak it goes into automatic mode (day 2 peak, high, low)
Worth every penny

I really liked it. I would defo use again if I wanted another baby.

I got bfp in my second month (this was the month I used preseed too - obviously could just be coincidence but worth a mention).

Good luck xx

It takes at least a month to warm up to your cycle, so if it’s the only method you use, you’ll be out for a month (unless you find the jackpot without it!) 😂

I used it for 4mths before my BFP, but I used Ovia Fertility app for 18mths and knew my cycle inside out, so it wasn’t of huge benefit to me I don’t think.
