Help please- BFP or left over HCG?

Backstory- TFMR in Sept’18 at 24 weeks
Chemical in Nov
BFP in December that resulted in mmc at 10 weeks, D&C on 1st Feb. Had minimal bleeding afterwards, then period type bleed on 13th for approx 5 days (on and off). Went to GP who did a pregnancy test which was negative, but I got positive one step tests until approx day 20.
13 days after bleeding started I got a tonne of ewcm and positive opk so dtd the Monday and Tuesday, tested on the Saturday and it was BFN.
Yesterday I would’ve been approx 8dpo. I’ve had a few symptoms so decided to test last night with FRER and to my surprise there was a faint BFP. Tested again this morning with FMU and again BFP but the line has not progressed.
Now I am panicking that either I’m having another chemical or that I’m not pregnant at all and it’s left over HCG from mmc.
Has anyone been in a similar position and had either outcome?

I had a mmc in October and still had positive tests for 9 weeks. It was leftover hcg.

Phone your gp who will arrange for some blood tests to confirm, will probably need repeated every couple of days to confirm if hcg is rising.

I only got my period back when my levels got to 2

@michellebops thanks for responding. It has been a year of hell and I’m so desperate to have some good news. Did you have retained products or anything that caused your HCG to take so long to drop? I was hoping because I had a negative test last few weeks that this will be fresh HCG. I just have a gut feeling this won’t end well too, but I’m hoping that’s just anxiety!
My plan is to keep testing but if the line doesn’t darken then I’ll phone GP

I had the surgery 3 days after the mmc so no retained products.

I thought I was pregnant again and was so cruised when the gp confirmed that it wasn't.

I hope for you it's a new pregnancy but definitely get it checked out. Either gp or epu xx
