Ive bought a load of cheapies of accsess diagnostics and was wondering should the second line show through a tiny bit after youve weed on it? I did one yesterday and got the faintest hint of a shadow of a line (i mean so faint i had to stand outside and examine it ) My sister thinks its just because the lines there anyway so thats all the 'shadow' is. Going to test in few more days if no af but cant see it being pos. as i had mid cycle spotting this month and cm is all over the bloody place.

i wouldn't trust the strip tests.i bought a load and i'm sure they are faulty.i got one of those second lines (the line is there anywhere on those one) and i wasn't pg and my mate who blatently is and had already tested (she was like 6 weeks gone) got a negative.i think they are crap.stick with the proper ones.

It sounds like an evapouration line...they are usually colourless and appear after 10 minutes but can appear at any time including straight away. I would retest in a few days.

I have heard the cheap strip tests are just as good as more expensive tests.

I had strips from Access Diagnostics and have been conducting a scientific experiment on them. Here's now it's been going.

af-3 days: absolutely no sign of a line at all

af-2 days: very faint line, if I waited until all the colour had run through and the stick was nearly dry

af-1 day: even fainter line than the day before. But a BFP with CBD.

af+1: slightly darker line, but still very faint

af+3: finally, a line that I could be sure was there and not just my imagination

af+5: this was the first day when I got I line that I would definitely call a positive without any doubt, nice and dark (but still nowhere near as dark as control line)

So, since they haven't given a decent positive until 5 days past my period being due, and since they're supposed to be so uber sensitive, I would rate these stick as a load of rubbish, and certainly not good for early testing.

Just also be aware to check that the sticks that you were sent were the supersensitive ones, as they sent the normal ones to me first, the only difference is the writing of 10muI on the back of the pack!

I had some and got very faint lines within the 10 minute limit for about three months running, I gave up using them as they were only disapointing me.

agree with g43 - quite literally when we were ttc I used my wee and a cup of water - both had the same line on them the same strength apparently they have those lines regardelss - I think pee on a stick.com it is gives you full details.

I used the mid sample ones this time, got a real faint is it there line - then got a digital no mistaking then BFP straight away. get a digital I say if af is late.

suezee · 08/07/2007 19:17

get a decent pregnancy test that costs over 4 quid

ow82 · 08/07/2007 19:18

dunno suze - tescos ones 2 for 3.88 - (have brought so many ) and they're ok - well were for me, but I still rate the digital ones no messing then.

goingfor3 · 08/07/2007 19:27

If you join the boots health club you get the twin pack of own brad teats half price. I get a bfp fours days before I was due with them, then I bout a digital when I was sure it was really there!
