Strange one, but I've been on the pill for the last 6 months. Have a DS 10 months old.

I've taken it religiously. Not always at the same time, but have never missed a day.

Recently I'm starving all the time, and I'm a eat a snack at 2pm then have dinner at 8 sort of person.

In addition I have heartburn, which I've only ever had whilst pregnant.

And, my pelvic floor has gone to shit. I wake up and I need to wee straight away. And when I think I've finished weeing I haven't (hasn't been like that for a good 6 months now!).

I took a test and it's negative (although not sure if I can see a very very faint line). I took the pill back to back last month and bled for a month. Nothing heavy.

My brain says well I've been bleeding so I can't be, but as my friend pointed out, you can still bleed as it's just a withdrawal bleed.

I'm also shattered, more so than usual. We tend to be shattered then stay up late (I know, makes no sense!) but recently I've been reading for bed around 10pm which is mega early for me.

I had a horrible pregnancy and birth last time, hence taking my pill so carefully!

Has anyone got any words of wisdom? I just feel so certain that I am, but then the logical side of me is like we'll you've bled and the test was almost 100% negative. But then I have no bloody clue where my cycle is. Do I count it from day s on the pill as im only a week into my new pack having taken the week for the withdrawal bleed, which was very short.

Thanks!

Does your pill have a set number of hours to take it? I now have DD because I took the pill a few hours late.

Pregnant enough for pregnancy symptoms is pregnant enough for a clear positive...

Dera1234 · 04/03/2019 15:20

Sometimes I take it at 10pm, sometimes 3am! This is what I thought but something is going on with me. And it all seems to point to how I felt when I was pregnant last!

But I'm not sure about the set number of hours, I'll check in a bit. It's microgynon so not sure.

I'm not sure if it's the right post to be on... but I'm on the implant and I've had it in for just over two years now but it is starting to be a little painful... is it normal??😫

CatToddlerUprising · 04/03/2019 15:28

I think with that one it has to be taken at the same time every day but you have a 12 hour window to take it, it may not reduce the protection

Dera1234 · 04/03/2019 15:41

I just thought, I had antibiotics a while back and didn't use extra protection but I thought they said it didn't really affect the pill anymore. Panicking tahtnit does though!

This is the microgynon info leaflet- www.medicines.org.uk/emc/product/1130/pil

Dera1234 · 04/03/2019 16:03

Thanks @CatToddlerUprising. I've had a quick flick through the one at home and can't find anything about antibiotics. I'm inclined to think if that test was negative, I can't be. Just panicking everytime I go rifling through the cupboards!

I was on microgynon when I was a teenager (a million years ago!) And was told to take it same time every day (timed with brushing teeth) and antibiotics did affect it. Could be a possibility?

Monst3ra · 04/03/2019 16:14

Could it be an increase in appetite caused by taking the pill?

I felt like I did when I was pregnant a few months ago and turned out to be anaemia. Have you had your iron levels checked?

MumUnderTheMoon · 04/03/2019 16:22

I was on the pill and using condoms when I got pregnant.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 04/03/2019 16:31

Last month I was convinced I was pregnant even though hadn't missed a pill, nausea, sore boobs, pains in boobs all the things I had when pregnant with ds.I had a blood test I was that convinced but I wasn't (thank god) Your body does weird things sometimes.

ajandjjmum · 04/03/2019 16:38

I was a bit sloppy about timing with the pill - DD is 26 in a couple of months!

Dera1234 · 04/03/2019 17:04

I wouldn't imagine the increase in appetite is from taking the pill as I've been on it for a while, and had been on it for years before having DS.

As for bodies doing strange things, perhaps it's that. Think I'll wait a week, do another test and that should be conclusive enough!

Hurrah! A test was taken today and still negative! Thanks for the advice guys. Just seems my body was being super super weird!
