Sudden tiredness, ovulation hope...

I realise this might seem a little random, but just after thoughts and experiences. 😊 I'm breastfeeding my 1-year old and haven't yet had a period since she was born. Have been hoping that my cycle might sort itself and have had some EWCM recently. Yesterday and today, this very sudden fatigue kicked in mid-afternoon and reminded me of that extreme pregnancy tiredness that I'd forgotten about. Just had a little surge of hoping that there's a tiny chance that I might be ovulating and pregnant (without having had a period)...?

It's definitely possible to ovulate/get pregnant without first having a period. Only one way to find out though! Smile

Thanks Carrohhh. I did a normal (as opposed to early first response) pregnancy test today which was negative. Am holding out hope that it's just too soon... x

Best of luck and hope you get a positive soon SmileSmile xx

I am in almost exactly the same position. DS is slightly older but not had period yet. Did a test tonight which has a faint line, but it showed after a few hours so invalid.

Good luck!

Thanks Car. Hi Waiting! ✋🏻 How old is your little one? Fingers and toes crossed for your next test - do let us know how you get on. I don't think I have much chance at all really...we only DTD once around the time when I may have ovulated. I think I need to start OPK-ing to try and work out what's going on. It's funny, just the thought that I might be pregnant and I suddenly really want to be! x

He is almost 14 months. It was a bfn this morning which isn't a surprise as last nights was technically invalid. Grin.

Would you reduce feeds/wean to try and get fertility back? I expected it to happen when I returned to work but no sign.

Last nights test with very faint line and this mornings that's totally negative.

Ah, sorry to hear about this morning's BFN. Are you feeling OK about it? My DD is nearly 17 months. She's been an absolute milk monster and I've always fed her on demand. In February she cut her lunchtime feed and has just started to sleep better and, as a result of that, it feels like my body's gearing up to do something! I'll see how it goes for a few weeks and will hopefully be able to determine whether or not/when I'm ovulating... x

Ah sorry I assumed 12 months. Fingers crossed you will have ovulated and at least get a period soon. Or BFP would be better of course.

We have 8/9 hour gap with no feeds(or expressing) when I'm at work but doesn't seem to have triggered period. He does still feed a lot at night!

Feeling ok about bfn. I knew it was unlikely anyway. Will keep testing because I love squinting at lines. Blush I know what you mean about wanting to be pregnant now you thought you were.

No need to apologise. Thank you - it's been great not having periods for so long, but now I'd like to know what my cycles are doing. I'll update in the next few weeks if any exciting changes occur. 😂 No pregnancy tests at home and I'm not going to fork out for more until I think I may be in with a chance. The very best of luck to you and hope that your cycles settle soon x

P.S. Are you using OPKs? I think that's what I need to start doing, although unsure as to when to start as am clueless re. cycle days at the mo!

I wasn't going to use OPKs as we aren't properly TTC yet. Would be hard before AF returns to know when to take them. Although I suppose you could just test as and when you think you have ovulation symptoms (if you get them).
