Milly was born on the 8th. We are smitten. Difficult and long labour unfortunately so recovering now, xx

HeartvsHead · 11/11/2019 12:57

Congratulations @Scottish1. Hope you are recovering well and enjoying time with your little lady xx

agteacht · 19/11/2019 22:07

@Scottish1 huge congrats on the arrival of Milly! I bet she is gorgeous. So sorry to hear it was difficult. But you have her now and she's safe x

@HeartvsHead she was definitely teeny!! But bet she's getting big already

Hope everyone is well. I am 38 weeks now and getting pretty exhausted. The midwife today said the head is fully engaged so she's made me nervous the baby will decide to come any day now, but let's see!

@agteacht any news? Xx

Hey @HeartvsHead
How are you getting on and how is baby Francesca??

And @Scottish1 baby Milly?

Well nothing happened here yet and it's a bit frustrating. Posted this earlier elsewhere but if you guys read it also good to get your views as to what to do next.

Am 40+4 by my scan dates although 40w on the dot based on dates of my last period (have always been slightly suspicious the scan has me dated too early!).

Anyway, was at the midwife today and am
now a bit stressed out.

They've booked me in for a sweep this Wednesday (40+6) and induction the following Monday (41+4).

The appointment today was all a little rushed and stressful as they were running 2 hours over... I asked for a later sweep and a later induction but it was 'computer says no' based on appointment availability.

The baby is fully engaged and very low, has been for a number of weeks. The midwife then said she thinks it might come by itself.

Based on this I feel like I want to try again to move the appointments - may have more luck phoning them, at least will get the induction moved back slightly.

Trying to decide what to do about the sweep. My husband asked me if it makes any difference whether it's this Wednesday or a couple of days later, as it's not a drastic measure. And I don't know the answer to that really, maybe I'm over-thinking this and having the sweep can do no harm?

what do you think? Would you wait longer or just give it a whirl?

Just want this little baby to come now ❤️🤞

Oh @agteacht it’s horrible when you go over and are waiting not knowing when it’s going to happen! I feel for you! Milly was 10 days over so I know how you must feel! Hang on in there I’d say. I had a sweep the day I went in to labour when I first arrived at hospital and it wasn’t pleasant 😩😘

Scottish1 · 10/12/2019 10:18

Milly doing great-she makes me laugh. Love her to bits! Keep us posted @agteacht xx

HeartvsHead · 10/12/2019 22:52

@agteacht it totally depends on how you feel. I personally would want a later induction and allow things time to happen of their own accord (I would however have the sweep to encourage things to kick off). You don't have to agree to anything you are not 100% happy with. Unless there is a medical need you can opt for daily monitoring once you reach 42 weeks rather than induction if you wanted.

I was told to always ask the question 'what are my other options?' As often they will try to get you to do what is most convenient/what most people go for and not present you with all your options.

Best of luck and fingers crossed baby doesn't keep you waiting too long x

Hey @HeartvsHead @Scottish1 and everyone else!

Well the threat of induction shocked our little baby to come out and today she will be 5 days old ❤️

she arrived on Friday 13th after a long few days of labour which started really well in the birthing pool as far as 10cm dilation but unfortunately her head got stuck in the birthing canal and we ended up with an emergency section to release it
(next time I'll go straight to epidural rather than try for a nice serene birth!)

She weighed 8lb in the end

A small price to pay though for our beautiful little girl though! We have called her Fiadh, which is an Irish name meaning ‘little wild deer’ and pronounced ‘Fee-ah’

We got out of hospital yesterday and I can't wait to start life with her ❤️

So proud of us all from our original group. We wanted a baby so much. We did it ❤️

@agteacht aww congratulations 🥳 How lovely, sorry to hear it was on the traumatic side, glad all went well in the end though xx

Scottish1 · 18/12/2019 15:20

Congratulations @agteacht !!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉 So happy for you and love the name! Yes, we did it! ❤️
Your labour sounds like mine! Milly’ ahead was turned so I couldn’t push her out myself so had to have a spinal thingymagig but could have ended up having c section too! Def go straight for epidural if I had to do it again 😂 I too wanted to do it naturally 🙈
Good luck to everyone still trying! Hope you get your bundle of joys soon!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

HeartvsHead · 20/12/2019 19:21

Congratulations @agteacht!!

Love the name and glad you are recovering ok. I had a c-section with my first and it's tough but tou suddenly get a lot better and it will soon be forgotten!

I'm currently in hospital with Francesca. She has bronchiolitis so has needed oxygen support for the last four days. Hoping to get out soon, it's my daughters 3rd birthday on Monday.
