Sitting in hospital at the moment doing gestational diabetes test. Not sure if everyone does it? Think may be because I have PCOS.

A very long process anyway, hopefully it's all for nothing!!!

@Lauraliverpool I know your BFP will come along very soon! X

@agteacht I haven’t been tested for that yet so may well be due to the pcos, I’m just sat in the doctors with a urine sample in my pocket (sorry if tmi! Haha) urine has gone super cloudy so I was wondering if I have any kind of infection 🙄 all fun and games ey

I arrived at the hospital at 7.45am for the test at 8, had to fast overnight. Didn't see me until 9.30!!! Took blood, drank a drink and now waiting for second blood sample to be taken. Then going to eat whatever I can find in hospital cafe!!!!

Isn’t it just! I’m afraid I haven’t quite mastered the arts of peeing in them little pots yet!😂 and all good, was just told I need to drink more 🙂

@agteacht there are certain risk factors that if you meet they will test you for GD. Family history, BMI, PCOS etc. They might also test you later if your bump grows large.

@JadeSB glad all is good. I had a midwife appointment at around 16 weeks and had just had a D&V bug and was still barely eating or drinking and my wee sample looked liked I had put neat orange juice in the pot! (Was quite a challenge to pee at all!) Still tested ok though even though it looked so wrong!

@Scottish1 thinking of you as D-day approaches!

I'm 37+3 now so also on home stretch!

Just to update anyone that is still looking at this thread...

Baby Francesca arrived 22/10/2019 at 4.07pm. Little girl of 5lb15. Got to the hospital at 2.45pm so was rather speedy!

So tiny, I had a growth scan to go and with 6 weeks to go apparently the baby is measuring 4lb12. So now at expecting some sort of 9lb horror 😬😂

I’m 39+2 here and can’t wait to have baby now! I had some mild period pains last weekend and got my hopes up that that was the beginning of something but clearly not! Trying to be patient!

@agteacht I’m not on any others 🤷🏼‍♀️ 4 weeks.. scary stuff! I’ve still got another 12 weeks to go 😳 I already feel so fat and uncomfortable.. I can’t imagine another 12 weeks of him growing so I feel sorry for you @Scottish1 for already going that extra week!

@agteacht another 3!?😳 oh blimey, what kind of job do you do? I care for the elderly in there own homes, I going on maternity just shy of 4 weeks prior to due date, I don’t think I’d last up until a week before 😅 so good on you!

@agteacht we are good thanks. My little chunk has gone from 5lb15 to 6lb10 in 15 days so doing something right! My almost 3 year old is obsessed with her and calls her 'our baby' all the time and wants kisses and cuddles with her all the time.

I was part of a Due November thread and through that ended up on a closed Facebook group which has been really good (especially in the middle of the night when up feeding) for company and advice.

Good luck @Scottish1 hope your not waiting too much longer! Are you working your way through all the old wives tales yet? Curry? Pinapple? Sex?

Thank you @HeartbsHead! 😘 Yes, I have eaten pineapple, curries, only dtd once but trying to persuade hubby to perform again tonight! 😂 Even ran up and down the stairs 10 times! 😂 Have been walking loads.... I have been having mild cramps in and off for a few days but they aren’t getting any stronger or closer together 😭 Bit of a show today though so that’s something! Hospital appointment on Saturday so looking frwd to that x

@JadeSB I'm office based so at least not on my feet like you, fair play to you! if I have a second child I definitely will plan to go on mat leave sooner!! 4 weeks sounds great. The tube to work is killing me!
That said, for my last two weeks I am working from home two out of five days each week so this coming week is my last full week.

@HeartvsHead that's a great gain, was she born early by the way?
Sooooo sweet that your 3 year old is so taken with her.

@Scottish1 I'm hoping today's appointment went well and/or you've already had some news!

@agteacht she was 11 days early. Was not expecting her to be so teeny. My bump had been measuring on the 65th percentile throughout and my first was 68th percentile at 8lb6. Having a 4th percentile baby came as a bit of a surprise!

Good luck with last bit of work. It's so hard to predict when they will come and get a balance between having some mat leave to get sorted and not being bored out your mind!
