I used a first response early result which is often recommend on here.

First Response - have never seen a false negative with these.
The blue dye ones are unreliable early on.

If you are testing late though-so over a week after missed period then IME any work. It’s only early testing that’s an issue.

Boots own are fine too

Has anyone been able to try or get hold of the biodegradable tests? They look to be made out of a paper/card like stuff.
I'm not ready to test yet but I'm mindful of single use plastic going in the bin.

Has anyone got any ideas. I see you can get like testing strips which don't seem to be encased in plastic. Are they any good?
Xx

I bought some of Superdrug own brand as they use the pink dye, after getting (several) positives I did one of the more expensive Clear blue digital tests. However, we were fortunate to be blessed with a lovely little suprise, so I didn’t test until fairly late; I’d go straight for the Early Response if I wanted to know as soon as possible.

OK my partner brought me clear blue early detection test. But I've herd they can be quite rubbish? I'm not due till the 24 so will probs test on Friday x

Does anyone have a list of brands which are pink dye instead of blue? They don't say on the packet! 😆 I have some Boots own in the cupboard at the moment, are they pink? Thanks.

coffeeforone · 19/02/2019 08:58

First response detects about 5 days earlier than the others for me. Then boots own brand.

coffeeforone · 19/02/2019 09:00

@hcopp yes the boots ones are pink, IMO they are the second best on the market, after first response

Megan2018 · 19/02/2019 09:01

My boots basic ones are pink dye, but I only used it a week after first BFP at approx 5 wks so can’t vouch for them early.
