Irregular period after coming off the pill and trying to conceive

Hello, this is my first post and I’m looking for advice. I came off the pill 5 months ago and I do get my period every month but my cycle has been irregular, and me and my partner are hoping to start trying for a baby. My first cycle was 35 days, followed by 25 days, 27 days the next month then 34 days. I noticed signs of ovulation the first couple of months and now I’m monitoring it and looking for the signs as well as using ovulation tests it’s not been the same since nor have I tested positive, it’s possible I’ve missed it. Has anyone else experienced this and did you just start ttc anyway?
I have an app next month with my Doctor to discuss if things don’t improve.

Took a year for my periods to become regular after coming off the pill - doctor said it was totally normal.

Guess you might as well start ttc anyway - I did ‘not trying not preventing’ for that year plus trying for another 18months and still not pregnant - no reason to leave it any longer!

Thanks MollyD88, we are the same, we decided to start ‘not trying not preventing’ just last month and again this month but despite my irregular cycle I think you are right and we should just start properly ttc as it could take a while. I am trying to prepare myself for that. I have read it can easily take couples up to 12 months to conceive, sometimes longer. I hope you get a positive result soon.

Thanks! Fingers crossed it’s a much smoother ride for you - good luck!
