Hiya

Looking for some help! We are desperate to start TTC #1 this year. My partner is self employed so while I would be on maternity leave we would be quite dependant on me getting the best pay possible.

Trouble is I am going for a new job (which if I was successful) would begin on 13th May 2019, the job is full time, salary is £24580 before tax with the uk government so not sure what the policies would be.

Can anyone help me with what I could expect to receive monthly for the year of leave? And also if we were lucky for best case scenario to happen and conceive the first month of trying (unlikely I know) when could we start trying so I could qualify for the pay?

Help... I know nothing about these things!! Thanks so much for your help in advance.

See if you can find your (hopefully!) new employers mat leave/pay policy on their website. Different employers pay differently.

You'll be entitled to statuatory mat pay which is something like £530ish a month but I think there are timelines on how long you need to have been working at the company in order to claim it...
