Stressing about OPKs

Me again!

I’m attaching a picture of my OPKs that I’ve been doing over the past few days. I keep getting positives, then negatives, then yesterday and today it’s positive again.

My cycles are very long (can be anything up to about 75 days) but apparently I don’t have PCOS as my hormone blood tests came back normal.

Can anyone shed any light on what might be happening here? Ive warned hubby that we are going to have to continue to “try” just to be on the safe side.

I had sharp pains in the left hand side of my pelvis on the 15th and yesterday so I thought I was ovulating and that today would be 1dpo but now I’ve got another positive test today so now I’m wondering if maybe I haven’t ovulated 😔

I know they say there’s no need to test after the first positive but I don’t trust my body to do what it’s supposed to, so I kept testing.

Are you sure you're not pregnant?

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/02/2019 15:05

If not, I'd stay the last OPK is positive and to try ☺️ good luck!

I have PCOS so I feel your pain about not knowing what's going on!

Definitely not pregnant. We will keep BD’ing anyway, just to make sure we don’t miss the egg when I do ovulate. I just wish I knew what was going on 😔 I’m trying to stay as relaxed as possible, but if I’m being honest, having sex every other day just makes it so much less romantic and it becomes all about making a baby and that’s it. So if I knew when I ovulated at least we could relax a bit.

It's horrible isn't, I know exactly how you feel.
Do you have any other PCOS symptoms? If your cycles are really long, did you get the dates for the blood tests correct?

Suzie2287 · 17/02/2019 15:38

The blood tests I had were just to check my hormone levels like FSH or whatever it is and there were a few others. The doc did mention I might need to have a blood test on day 21 but nothing more was said about that. I have a lot of PCOS symptoms. I’ve had cysts removed from my ovaries in the past and was told I had endometriosis. This was before my son was conceived but my cycles were only about 33 days back then. But according to my doctor, because my hormone blood tests came back normal, I don’t have PCOS although I’m not convinced.

I'd be suspicious too. It's not just about the bloods, especially if you have other symptoms. Can you push to have more investigation done? See another GP?
I'd be seeing that OPK as positive that you'll ovulate in the next couple of days and then if AF doesn't turn up, maybe test in a couple of weeks.

If I don’t get pregnant this cycle, I’m going back to the Doctor. I am trying to lose some weight as well to hopefully regulate the cycles a bit

Good for you. I'm trying to lose weight too in hopes that conceiving my 2nd will be easier than the 1st!!
