SMEP & short cycles

Hi i had a miscarriage in September and have been trying to conceive ever since, with no luck, my cycles have been a little bit unusual but this is the first month, things seemed back to normal since the MC so I'm thinking of giving sperm meets, egg a go, has anyone done this and can they give any advice? My main question is, if I have a short cycle, 24 to 25 days, would I still start DTD on day 8? Thanks

Do you chart your BBT? Hard to say at what point you're ovulating without it. You may need to start earlier than Day 8 if you're ovulating earlier than someone on a 28-30 day cycle would.

No I've done temping just been using opks up until now x

@queenqueenqueen I also have short cycles 23-25 days and am currently 8 weeks pregnant. Luteal phase is relatively constant even with short cycles, possibly could drop to 12-13 as our cycles are so short. I think I ovulate between day 7-9 but we found tracking stressful. We just dtd daily and more around a week after my period finished. Good luck

Also, I found that OPKs never worked for me with short cycles but everyone different xx

I also have short cycles and think I am going to try this next month. I have been using clear blue ovulation kits so I ovulate usually around day 10/11. Get flashing smiley faces from day 7.
I did get pregnant last month but miscarried around week 6 so hopefully next month will be our lucky one.

@hellsbellsK I also miscarried in October around week 5 so a bit earlier than you. Then we conceived at the end of December and everything looks good so far. There's evidence that suggests that fertility increases for around 6 months post miscarriage, hope you get a sticky one soon xx

@Infb that's great, huge congratulation. Love positive stories I'm just writing myself off forever more at the moment which is crazy.
I just tested for ovulation this month but didn't really try to be honest. So hopefully the next few months will be lucky ones.

@HellsBellsK Aww hun, I was the same writing myself off with every 'failure' each time I started AF but you will get your rainbow baby very soon, we fell the third cycle after the miscarriage. I was so anxious too, I know how horrible it is. The main thing that helped us relax is just having sex near enough daily, and even more around a week after my period for 4-5 days. It took the pressure of tracking temp etc away xx

I've read that DTD too much is not always a good thing?? What do you mean a week after period finished@infb wouldn't that be, like day 11/12??

@queenqueenqueen sorry I meant week after period has started, roughly, depending on length of bleed. I only bleed 3-4 days. So that would be day CD 7-8
Mixed evidence on reduction in sperm quality for DTD too much-seems if partner has normal sperm count then it doesn't make a difference xx

Just feeling so so down in the dumps, why is this not happening for me yet?when I had a miscarriage in September we weren't really trying and when I found out I was pregnant, it was all a bit of a shock/surprise, we already have two dc's, who were both conceived really quickly & naturally. But we had come around to the idea, so when I miscarried, it was totally devastating.I feel like I really, really want another baby but it's just not happening. ahh feeling so sad today 😔
