Having a coffeen in my tww

That's it, I'n doing it! Feel like my likelihood is so low and I don't want to spend another day so out of sorts when this could go on for months ConfusedBrew

Second full cycle after pill. The apps state ovulation between today (weds) and sat, but most saying Friday. DTD Monday and wont again until Sat earliest.

Anyone else with me? Don't know how I can do this every month!

Also that should say coffee - definitely not coffeen! Also I'm having one within 3 days when I used to have four a day, so be kind!

Am confused? You are saying you planned to not have coffee in case you are pregnant? Seems odd to me. I only stopped drinking coffee when morning sickness meant i could no longer tolerate it. I didn't even give up alcohol until i had my BFP.

Leleophants · 13/02/2019 07:49

Really? I've heard it increases chance of miscarriage worse than alcohol:( but I think tww is probably fine. Im worried about beating myself up about it not happening though. First try here!

I didn’t stop caffeine or alcohol until BFP. You could be at this for years! Drink what you like, it’ll make bugger all difference.
I eventually conceived over the Christmas period whilst completely bladdered.

BiscuitDrama · 13/02/2019 07:59

I don’t think you need to treat the TWW the same as pregnancy. Smile

Lookingforadvice123 · 13/02/2019 08:01

You are still allowed coffee when pregnant anyway, up to 200mg of caffeine a day!

Two days before my BFP with this pregnancy (second), I had a twinge and instantly knew I was pregnant. My AF wasn't due for two days, so I was sure to have a few glasses of Prosecco as it would be my last chance for months.

Thanks everyone you're making me feel better. I just wonder if it effects implantation a tiny bit, but I suppose not. If it doesn't happen.this time I've got to assume dtd wrong days I guess.

I've always had the odd coffee in pregnancy after my sickness stage had passed and I drank tea as normal, all my four have been absolutely fine. A cup of coffee won't do anything.

BonBonVoyage · 13/02/2019 08:26

Read "Expecting Better* by Emily Oster. It examines the food avoidance myths around pregnancy.

Caffeine doesn't cause miscarriages. Please don't worry about that

whatdoyouwantfromme · 13/02/2019 08:47

As someone going through IVF in the 2ww. Exact words of my dr this week, nothing you do will impact the outcome.
Everything in moderation.
Also, In the words of my medic sister, even heroin addicts get pregnant. Not that I'm recommending that path but a coffee won't hurt, neither will a glass of wine, soft cheese or prawns.
Good luck op ! Hope you get your BFP!!!

I got pregnant on my honeymoon and I was bladdered everyday! Be kind to yourself, if you need a super dooper lovely coffee to keep you going, have one and enjoy it! Good luck and fingers crossed for you.

Megan2018 · 13/02/2019 10:40

@Leleophants
Even if you DTD at the right time there is only a roughly 20% chance of conception each cycle. If this isn’t your month it doesn’t mean you did anything wrong.

TinyTear · 13/02/2019 10:43

Goodness, I had 5 miscarriages and the 2 pregnancies where I didn't I had coffee and even wine and sangria in the 2ww!

Leleophants · 13/02/2019 15:06

Thank you lovelies!!
