Explorers10 · 10/02/2019 17:45

So my AF has arrived today but looking forward to having another go at TTC for a baby in November 2019.

Cycle: 4
Age: 34
CD: 1

Anyone else want to join in the same position as we try to get through this next cycle together?

@leleophants

You are not out until AF comes. Some don’t have symptoms & they only know when AF doesn’t show. I know Xmas baby, my DH is not keen on Xmas or winter baby. I’m going to still dtd but not as often and relax a bit more for next 3 months. Never know the relax approach might actually work!

I'm 5dpo but not having any symptoms at all, hoping that doesn't rule me out this month but feeling really low today 👎🏻

Leleophants · 20/02/2019 14:41

Thanks @Explorers10

@ale2992 still very early days!

ale2992 · 20/02/2019 14:47

@Leleophants I know it's just hard not to get dragged down by the waiting

Leleophants · 20/02/2019 14:57

Tell me about it! Feels like this started forever ago (only been 1 1/2 weeks since I started trying). Hopefully we'll all look back on this and think we shouldn't have worried so much! My af isn't due until 1st.

ale2992 · 20/02/2019 15:11

Same!

MrsP4 · 20/02/2019 15:22

@ale2992 I'm the same as you yesterday and today have been my low days like you said getting dragged down by the waiting, I'm 7DPO no CM no spotting, few odd niggle like cramp but nothing worth mentioning, I was talking to DH about it he's a lot more positive than me but then I think men generally are as I always say it's not them going through it all, it's not their bodies etc and they don't put as much pressure on themselves each month like us

WildFlower2019 · 20/02/2019 15:50

I've had symptoms the last three months from 6dpo and it's turned into three BFNs. Some were really strong too.

If you look at the science, after fertilisation, something microscopic moves from your tubes to your uterus and implant at (on average) 9dpo.

Then it takes several days to even build up hormones to a detectable level! It's the hormones that can make you have symptoms. That and changes in progesterone/Oestrogen which you get anyway before AF! PLUSSS you can get the symptoms if the egg implants and then it detaches if the pregnancy isn't viable (chemical pregnancy). So it really isn't worth Symptom spotting! They can mean everything and nothing!

Don't feel disheartened!

Saying that you know I'll be SS at the end of the week once I've ovulated hahahahaha

@MrsP4 FX for a birthday BFP for you! The one step tests are ok but sometimes they give some funky evap lines in my experience. Though, the evaps usually show up after several minutes ime. They're good for a POAS habit though! Cheaper than FRERs. But from now on I'm disregarding any line that isn't obvious and doesn't come up right away!

@Leleophants no I won't stop trying. I don't want to wait until 2020 for a baby, so it'd be one more shot for it to be born in this year! I asked DH if he wanted to stop trying due to Xmas clash and he looked at me like I had two heads!!!! I said I'll take that as a no then! Haha.

MrsP4 · 20/02/2019 16:36

Very true @WildFlower2019 each month I tell myself I'm not going to SS and I'm going to be relaxed yet here I am! 😂🙈

Peachyx2505 · 20/02/2019 16:54

@WildFlower2019 eek for the static smiley!! 🤞

@Explorers10 hope you have a lovely weekend away. Hopefully you get your static in the next couple of days 😀

@MrsP4 I used the one step (well similar) back in the day when trying for DS1. I had a faint line at what I think was 12dpo.... not entirely sure it was nearly 7 years ago 😂 I then took a digi about 5 days later! Ooooh that restraint... most definitely don't have that this time around 🙈 🤞 for a birthday bfp x

@LJ87 welcome! 🤞that you will have your bfp in a couple of days x

@Leleophants DS1 was due 24th December by my calculations, then the 21st by the midwife. At my dating scan they put me as 17th.... he arrived on the 3rd! Long and short.... no way are we stopping.... babies will decide to come when they are ready. If we aren't lucky this month then I think it'll be another 24th/25th/26th dec due date 🙈

@ale2992 it definitely doesn't rule you out.... the only symptom I had with DS1 was bleeding gums. And that was probably nothing to do with being pregnant! Keeping everything crossed for you x

MrsP4 · 20/02/2019 17:23

Thank you @Peachyx2505 haha I've bought some so I will not waste so much money on FRER I feel like doing the internet cheapies help me to not be so devastated when AF turns up because I basically know that I'm not pregnant rather than spend two weeks getting my hopes up and then nothing! FX for us all! 🙏🏻

WildFlower2019 · 20/02/2019 17:57

That's my logic too @MrsP4 x

veeboo · 20/02/2019 18:16

Hi all and welcome new posters. Good to read everyone's updates. Thank god for these forums I find them so helpful to vent!

I'm also in the not stopping next month crew. I had the same worry about a poss late Aug due date but now I'm 13 months in I don't think it would matter.

I am unsure when to test this month. AF due 3rd March I think. I'd like to wait until late but have an internal ultrasound scan as part of fertility tests on 4th and think would need to know if I thought I was pregnant.

Chanel05 · 20/02/2019 20:14

@WildFlower2019 fresh needles! They were very thin too, I didn’t feel anything.

@Explorers10 are you using ic’s too or just the clear blue? I’m on cd16 and should ovulate on Friday. I’ve had 5 days of flashing smileys so far!

Explorers10 · 20/02/2019 20:20

@chanel05 no not using ics just clearblue. Are you testing with FMU? Your static smiley should come soon I reckon if you had 5 days of flashing smilies. Exciting!!

Chanel05 · 20/02/2019 20:33

@Explorers10 yes I am. According to my charts, my peak most frequently arrives on cd18 and I ovulate that same day, going on some brief data analysis. Going to dtd tonight anyway though I can’t say I’m really in the mood yet 😂.

Zarara · 20/02/2019 22:02

I finally got a positive opk so I’m now 1dpo. Now it’s the long wait!

I’m going to keep going now because of my cycles I wouldn’t be due close to Xmas day so not as fussed although if it was closer to Xmas I Day I would probably take a break.

ale2992 · 20/02/2019 23:23

So much for not symptom spotting, I seem to have developed several in the last few hours 😩 dizziness, fatigue, cramps, sore boobs/nipples and they feel massive, also feeling bloated. All of those could be pms I suppose so trying to stay pessimistic.

Nfis · 21/02/2019 06:39

I got my positive opk yesterday so just starting the tww. Dtd for the last 2 nights and going again tonight just in case (although I think it will
Probably be too late)

If we don't get a bfp this month we won't be stopping - with only one chance a month we don't want to waste any.

DH's mum has terminal cancer and id really like her to get to meet her grandchild so FX it happens soon! She's not pestered us at all (even though I know she really wants a grandchild) so trying to stay calm and relaxed in the hope that helps!

LJ87 · 21/02/2019 08:28

AF due today - Saturday, I tested this morning but BNF. Ah so disheartening, I know I’m not ‘out’ until AF shows up but it’s frustrating! I’m using the cheap one step tests from amazon - wondering if it worth getting some first response tests? Or maybe I should just learn to be patient and wait a few more days and I’ll know if AF arrives....

Peachyx2505 · 21/02/2019 09:05

@Nfis sorry to hear about you mil. We are I. The same position. Mil hasn't bothered us about having another but I know she'd love a second grandchild to spoil. Fingers crossed it happens quickly xx

@LJ87 🤞 for a bfp in a couple of days xx

@Zarara hope the tww goes quickly for you!

Well AF has left the building....now the fun begins 😂 xx

ale2992 · 21/02/2019 10:04

So I caved and did a test this morning, bfn but I know it's really early I'm only 6dpo.
Just annoyed at myself now and feel shitty.
Still symptom spotting, feeling sick this morning and I'm exhausted, feeling like I have abit of a cold coming.

Zarara · 21/02/2019 10:17

@LJ87 I’ve stocked up on the amazon strips but have also bought some first responses. Not that I’m obsessed or anything Blush I think I’m going to start with the amazon ones to allow me to test multiple times then if I see a hint of anything move on to the other ones. What DPO are you? Fingers crossed it’s your month.

@ale2992 how many DPO are you?

ale2992 · 21/02/2019 10:20

@Zarara 6dpo

WildFlower2019 · 21/02/2019 10:27

@ale2992 Don't feel disheartened. Countdowntopregnancy.com say that 96% of women are pregnant get a negative result at 6dpo: www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/dpo-chart.php?dpo=6

I would even argue that those 4% of women getting positives ovulated a day or two earlier than they realised, so they recorded inaccurate data. My apps are often a day or two out of sync with my OPKs!!!

All that to say don't feel down, you're still very much in the game. Just expect the BFNs at this stage!

Eggs can implant at 6dpo at the earliest really and they take days to produce enough hormones to show up on the most sensitive tests xx FX for you 🤞
