I'm 8weeks 4 days postpartum, I stupidly had unprotected sex tonight and now I'm worrying about pregnancy, I completely get how idiotic I was but what are the chances of pregnancy? Also I'm formula feeding

He pulled out before finishing off which I know doesn't mean anything.

Does anyone have any similar experiences of this they could share please Blush

get MAP to be safe

Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:06

Do you know where you are in your cycle? Xx

anniehm · 09/02/2019 22:06

Call out of hours who can tell you where you can pick up the morning after pill tomorrow, you have 3 days but the sooner the better. And sort out your contraception before he gets another chance! I got pregnant 2 weeks after stopping breastfeeding despite being "careful"!

Sear86 · 09/02/2019 22:07

If you don't want 2 children under the age of 2, you need the morning after pill. It's happened to a friend of mine, she got pregnant when hee youngest was 6 months old.

WH1SPERS · 09/02/2019 22:14

Yup MAP. I know someone whose children are a year and a day apart.

And someone else who conceived at 8 weeks post partum and baby was born 4 weeks early so they are 10 months apart.

strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:15

@Littletreasure2017 no I haven't had a period yet 🤦🏻‍♀️

Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:16

Is the morning after pill an option for you? Xx

strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:18

@anniehm yeah I was suppose to by condoms but forgot ( idiot)

@WH1SPERS goodness me!! That would be hard

@Littletreasure2017 I'm not sure, I can't take hormonal contraceptives because I end up with polyps on my womb lining and have to get them removed. Would the MAP be similar?

OP posts:
strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:20

@anniehm buy not by lol

OP posts:
Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:22

I have no idea sorry!! Xx

TeachesOfPeaches · 09/02/2019 22:23

You could end up with two under one by being so reckless

strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:28

@TeachesOfPeaches I know 😞

OP posts:
Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:40

No need to jump on op saying thugs like she's reckless!!

Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:42

Things like not thug!!
For what it's worth my sister had her dd 2 days before her sons 1st birthday they are now 5 and 6, she was absolutely fine!! Op enjoy your little one and try not to stress to much!! Xx

gamerchick · 09/02/2019 22:43

I do admire you for having sex that soon *crosses legs" but if you don't want to risk pregnancy then to play need emergency contraception. Maybe pop to a chemist within a supermarket tomorrow perhaps and ask advice?

strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:46

@Littletreasure2017 thankyou, I am really enjoying it I also have a 5year old , and my son is nearly 9weeks he took 4 1/2 years to conceive so I guess my chances are slim.
It wouldnt be the right time either me and DH have been saving for years for the holiday to Florida we've booked for next year, wouldn't have A clue what to do to add another person to the flights and villa etc

OP posts:
strawberry28 · 09/02/2019 22:48

@gamerchick it was a bit scary but I had a straightforward natural birth and didn't need any stitches or anything

OP posts:
Littletreasure2017 · 09/02/2019 22:53

strawberry28 · 10/02/2019 04:27

Definitely consider the MAP if you can, my DS took 9 years and 5 cycles of IVF (3 with donor eggs) he was born last year in Jan and I stopped breastfeeding in May then my periods returned in June and I caught in September. That's with 1 tube and premature ovarian failure! Our PP bodies are strange things, obv very happy but huge shock!

strawberry28 · 10/02/2019 08:36

@Lauren83 I think I'm just going to use condoms from now and and test for this possibility,

Any ideas when I test?

You are very fertile after giving birth.
Could you make an out of hours appointment to speak to a GP about MAP? or speak with a pharmacist?

You could test in around 2-3 weeks

cushioncovers · 10/02/2019 09:03

I would get the MAP to be safe

strawberry28 · 10/02/2019 15:56

@Onceuponacheesecake yes I will do that and talk to them
Thankyou 🙂
