Hi everyone. Well af got me again this morning 🙁 gutted as I have been doing so much recently to help conception (soy isoflavones, multi vits, ubiquinal). Dh has of course done nothing.
I was wondering about getting a sperm test from amazon but there seem to be several at a wide range of prices
Has anyone ever done one or got any recommendations?

They only tell you about number, not morphology or motility. Mostly a waste of money.

Daisypod · 08/02/2019 16:33

Some do say they do motility as well ( the expensive ones!) so I was hoping people would have had experience with both kinds to get some recommendations

I think the problem with doing these unregulated tests is what do you do with the result?

Have you been trying long enough to get tested on the NHS?
If not and you find something wrong, do you have enough ££ to see someone privately?

We haven't been trying long enough but doubt we would get any help from the nhs anyway as we already have kids which is far enough. Just want to do it as if there were any issues there I know there are things you can do to help sperm quantity without medical intervention. I am getting to the point where I am willing to do anything we can to give us a push.

Have you looked into the private fertility clinic? You can just pay for one off tests. I paid £50 for a blood test I wanted done. Then I took that result to my gp which resulted in a referral to endocrinologist for PCOS

You can get a standard sperm analysis done at a private fertility clinic for about £120. I don't know how much the home tests are but I recommend leaving this type of thing to professionals rather than trying to do it yourself. Hope you get some answers.
