I am massively grateful for my gorgeous daughter who has just turned two but desperate for another. Fell first month with her (which I realise is not the norm) which makes it even more frustrating that it is taking a while this time!

I feel bad as I know lots of people (including my SIL) who would be so happy to just have one baby but at the same time it's a blow every month when AF arrives.
Anyone in same boat?

Age: 31
Cycle: 6
CD: 8

I'm after baby number 2, but still BF at night and AF hasn't yet returned, so presumably not even ovulating again yet?!?! Who knows, i have a distinct lack of knowledge of biology Confused Blush it took 5 months for DC1 to happen, so I'm not expecting anything quickly!
Good luck! I shall keep everything crossed for you Grin

justsparklex · 07/02/2019 17:06

Hi, also trying for baby no2. Ds1 turns 2 this month! Took us 4 months to fall on with him so I'm not expecting anything quick either pp..

Age: 23
Cycle: 1
CD: 24

Good luck everyone 🤞🏼Grin

@HeartVSHead

I’m in exactly same boat. I feel pregnant straight away with my daughter on 1st month of trying but struggling to get pregnant with the second. My girl is also 2. I think it’s more of a shock when you don’t fall pregnant straight away as you kind of expect it 2nd time round. You then start thinking the worse like something must be wrong & what if I can’t have kids. Fingers crossed for us that we will fall pregnant soon with baby number 2!

HeartvsHead · 07/02/2019 20:53

@Mumof1DS you will ovulate just before your periods return so you won't know for sure until you get the first one (or don't!). I'm a biology teacher so know quite a bit about how it all works just need mine to do it!!

@justsparklex welcome!

@Explorers10 it's so hard not to let your mind go into overdrive. I had to have a C-section and managed to convince myself that this has done some damage.

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 07/02/2019 21:08

@HeartvsHead

I had 3rd degree test with forceps and ventouse &a my husband said the same thing maybe with a bad birth caused damage! I think as the months have gone on I've got a bit better and trying to just let it happen and trying not to get stressed

HeartvsHead · 09/02/2019 21:09

So hard to keep some things out of your head!

When are you guys next in your fertile window? I've started opks for the first time this month to check I'm hitting the right time.

Similar boat. DS is 2 1/2. Fell straight away with DS but now over a year TTC which has involved 2 MCs last year.

I'm quite a bit older than you all - 38. I know that has a role to play but still very hard to accept. I'm still hoping our luck will change.

DPO 9 today.

BFP due 14th
I use CB advanced OPKs

dragonmummy17 · 10/02/2019 08:56

Similar here. DS is 2 in April. Fell straight away with him. Been ttc 10 months and had mc in December. This is my first proper cycle since

Age 37
7 or 8 dpo

Used cb digital opks this month but only had high readings with no peak so am guessing my ovulation date by cm

HeartvsHead · 10/02/2019 10:25

It's nice to have people in the same boat and see that it's not just me but seems to be quite common to take longer second time round (though obviously sorry that you are in the same boat!)

Fingers crossed not too long a wait for us all.

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 10/02/2019 17:54

My AF came today so onto cycle 4! How is everyone else getting on?

HeartvsHead · 10/02/2019 20:48

I'm on CD11 but have long cycles so now the eternal wait for ovulation! I seem to have continuous countdown at the moment. Countdown to ovulation, countdown to af repeat.

Sorry to her AF turned up again @Explorers10

Can I join. DS is nearly 2. Got pregnant first try wih him but just got AF so will be into 6 th month now. I am heartbroken every time. It seems more crushing every month. I think my c section damaged me somehow.

HeartvsHead · 13/02/2019 15:40

@BlodwynBludd sorry to hear that. I know exactly how you feel about the c-section. It's hard not to let these little thoughts take over. Part of me is tempted to pay for a private scan to check and part of me thinks I'm just being silly.

Hi everyone,

similar picture here, fell pregnant with DD first cycle and presumed it would be just as easy second time round, like some of you im worried that some damage was done during labour (kielland forceps delivery), or perhaps my hormones are just out of whack now. I used to have regular, 32ish day cycles with no spotting, now my cycles are 23-27 days with spotting from 8DPO, I stopped breast feeding well over a year ago so doesn't feel like they are going to regulate any time soon.

This month I started taking a b vitamin complex to see if it helped, Im 8DPO today and no spotting so far so crossing my fingers that something positive is going on!

I tested today with a IC and got a BFN, trying to convince myself Im not out yet but not particularly confident as haven't really got any symptoms at all. AF due in 4 days so no doubt will have POAS about a million times by then anyway.

BlodwynBludd · 13/02/2019 20:24

Thanks Heart, I would have a scan done to check but I have no idea how to arrange one. I'm starting reflexology for fertility this weekend. So fingers crossed. Talking o know what you mean, I spend a week a month POAS. Fingers crossed this is your month.

HeartvsHead · 14/02/2019 01:02

@BlodwynBludd I think they do them at the centre's where you get the early scans and 4d scans done.

I'd be interested to hear how you find the reflexology. A friend of mine when to an acupuncture guy near us who is a fertility specialist which I'm tempted to try.

This is my last month of trying before a break. DDs birthday is just before Chrismas (23rd) so DH is keen to avoid another right near Christmas!

MonkeyToucher · 14/02/2019 08:04

For those worried about a traumatic first birth causing problems conceiving a second, I really wouldn’t worry about this! The “damage” is to your vagina not your uterus or ovaries! I had 2 second degree tears, failed ventouse and emergency forceps followed by a massive haemorage - conceived dc2 first month trying (dc1 took 15 months but that’s another story!)

HeartvsHead · 14/02/2019 08:12

@MonkeyToucher I had a c-section so the scaring to the uterus can be an issue but agree with natural delivery it shouldn't be an issue.

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 14/02/2019 09:51

It’s reassuring that we are not alone with TTC number 2. I will try to relax about damage and keep trying. I’m only on CD5 and really want to start trying again. The wait seems so long!

HeartvsHead · 15/02/2019 20:02

@Explorers10 tell me about it. Between waiting for ov then the tww I feel like I'm always half watching the days go by!

OP posts:
Explorers10 · 15/02/2019 20:38

@heartvshead

I know it’s so hard. I think though from next month if I don’t get pregnant this month I’m going to try and be more chilled. My DH doesn’t want a Xmas or winter baby so not going to dtd as often over the next few months. Plus I’m hoping with spring and summer on it’s way there be more stuff and places to go which will keep me preoccupied without thinking about TTC

turquoisebaby · 15/02/2019 21:16

Evening all, also trying for baby no2. DD has turned 2 this month. Have been trying for baby no2 for nearly a year now. DD took 7 months so i guess I just take agesssss to fall pregnant :( Its hard going every month.

Age: 26
Cycle: 11

Also according to app I'm in the fertile window and have spotting, this has never happened before so intrested to see if it will happen this month.

HeartvsHead · 20/02/2019 22:05

How is everyone doing? I'm just coming to fertile window (I think). Got nothing on opks yet though.

OP posts:
BlodwynBludd · 21/02/2019 06:33

Fingers crossed this is the lucky month for you heart. My ds has been poorly so haven't had a chance to test for ovulation this month let alone dtd! I don't think I've missed my fertile window yet though. Had reflexology which was lovely. I felt amazing after. The most relaxed I've been in a long time. Don't know what it's done for my fertility but I am definitely going back!

Explorers10 · 21/02/2019 13:12

I’m just coming into fertile week too. Opks are saying not fertile but fingers crossed tomorrow I get a smiley face on the clearblue opk
