Hi everyone,

I posted a few weeks ago just to re-cap:

1.Drunken liaison with man on 4th Dec - did not ejaculate

  1. Had a period on 15th December(period before this was 14th November)
  1. Slept with ex 23rd December-he did ejaculate
  1. Positive pregnancy test 8th January

I've since been for an early scan on 1st February scan showed a 6wk5day fetus.

Went to midwife this week asked her and she wasn't very helpful (you can always get a DNA test after baby is born was the advice!)

So my questions is I desperately want it to be my ex's baby-do you think it is?Could the early scan be wrong?Am I worrying for no reason?SO STRESSED!! Any advice much appreciated xxxx

From your dates and the scan you're most likely that it's your ex's baby. No way to be 100% sure till DNA test but it would be much more likely to be your ex's from what youve said.

On the date of conception you are two weeks along. If you were 6 weeks 5 days on the 1st of Feb, 4 weeks and 5 days ago should be the approximate date of conception. I'd say it was pretty likely it was your ex

mynameiscalypso · 06/02/2019 22:18

Agreed - we conceived a couple of days before 4th Dec and my last period was on 15th Nov. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow. On that basis, you're about a month behind me which makes sense for it to be your ex's.

RubiksQueen · 06/02/2019 22:19

I would say though, your midwife is not going to promise you either way and nor will I. There's still a very slim chance the baby is not your ex's, so it's up to you if you decide to get a DNA test or not post birth. Just remember your ex is an ex for a reason, this isn't about him, this is about you, having a baby, as a single parent xx

Yes thanks for that you are right-its more the fact that I want my children to have the same father. As for the first man being the potential father- could an early scan be that wrong?

6wk 5 day scan, if conception was from 4th December (periods on 14th Nov and 15th dec) wouldn't fetus be bigger?

That looks like my 6 week 6 day scan - I think they're quite accurate at dating

Lellybelly54 · 07/02/2019 05:14

Thanks for that CosyToast. I can't understand how it could be guy one of if I had a proper period with normal bleeding and cramps 11 days later and also scan shows conception of around 25th December? I'm am missing something here?

Also this is my scan from 18th jan, if conception occurred around 4th December this would be a scan of a 6 week fetus and it looks much smaller don't you think?

Your 6 weeks date is worked out in the first day of your last period is likely, as we ovulate mid month, that your ex is the father ... if you're told 6 weeks pregnant, then any has been growing for 4 weeks as the first two weeks are the weeks prior to ovulation .... it's not 6 weeks from the time you had successful sex

CosyToast · 09/02/2019 22:40

6 weeks and 5 days would make it the second man, because when you conceive you count as 2 weeks along already

NannyPear · 09/02/2019 23:31
  • Scan showed 6-7 weeks pregnant
  • You had unprotected sex with your ex 4-5 weeks before the scan
  • You had a period on schedule after you had sex with the other guy
  • The other guy didn't ejaculate

I really can't see any way how it couldnt be your ex's baby! Congrats on your pregnancy OP :)
