Hello everyone. Question out of interest. When were you adviced by your doctor to start trying again after MC? I know every situation is different...it feels like there is a lot of opinions on this, some researches say there is no need to wait and in fact if you get pregnant within first 6 months you are more likely to have a healthy pregnancy...some say you should waita few cycles. We had a missed miscarriage..baby stopped developing at 6+3 but didnt discover and start bleeding until week 11. Went for a scan, they said its looking very good, after 10 days of bleeding, almost everything is gone..only 5 ml left so they are happy for my body to continue until the end. Our doctor said we should probably wait 3-4 months. Of course its still quite fresh and its not like we really wanted to start trying straight away but also hoped it wont have to be too long wait since it was a very early MC and dont need any treatment.. What advice were you given? Is there a really proven risk of miscarring again if getting pregnant lets say in the first 2 months after your first normal cycle starts?

I had an early loss at around 6 weeks but had to have a procedure to remove the fetus as I bleed for weeks but didn’t lose it naturally for some reason. The consultant I saw then said no need to wait and we could try again straight away if we felt ready. We waited until my next period and then tried again after that. Got pregnant with DD on second month of trying and she’s a very healthy 2 year old now. I’m not a doctor so I guess there could be situations where waiting a bit longer is advised, but the consultant told me it’s quite old advice about having to wait a few months. Obviously aside from the psychological side, where everyone is different. I was devastated at our loss but still wanted to start trying again quickly. Sorry for your loss x

Started trying again after first period after MC. Got pregnant straight away and went on to have a successful pregnancy.

Thank you ladies. Is there anything you did differently with the cycles after MC? Any special vitamins to help your insides heal faster or anything new you tried prior to the successful pregnancies after MC? Were your cycles any different? I also feel like 4 months is quite long if there are no other complications. But the doctor said that the uterus and insides are weaker or something as it went through this "traumatic" process.
