Will a pregnancy cycle feel different?

Hello everyone.

Im new to the board, in my mid 30s and ttc my first baby.

Im at the end of my fourth cycle now. I have the same symptoms as I always do: backache and abdominal cramps at 6dpo which return at 9dpo until 12dpo when af arrives; I have tender (.)(.) after ov to af; heartburn and indigestion during the 2ww; extremely tired. Its frustrating because although all my symptoms happen as regular as clockwork, I know these are also typical pregnancy symptoms and I cant stop myself from hoping that this month, it will be different.

I was wondering if anyone else had these pmt symptoms, particularly the cramping, and if your symptoms were different in the month you got your bfp? I keep thinking that the cramping in particular would be different if/when I have a successful cycle. Did that happen to anyone else?

Sorry this is quite a long post with a lot of questions. Im beginning to find ttc v.stressful, particularly the last 2 weeks of every month and Id like to know how a pregnancy cycle differed from a normal cycle in women with similiar pmt symptoms to me. Hopefully this will stop me getting my hopes up each month!

Thanks everyone.

Hi

I am ttc for my first so I am not sure whether pg feels different.

I am exactly like you, it is frustrating and I have been ttc for 8 months. I even get the insomnia. The only thing that I don't get that I believe happens when you are pg is that you go to the toilet for a pee alot more often. This has not happened to me so I kind of use that as a measure every month.

Sorry if this is no help

my early PG symptoms were exact same as my PMT symptoms.

I suspected I might be pg the month when I didn't get all the usual pms/pg symptoms! No cramps, no sore boobs, so grumpiness etc etc. And indeed, I was. Sore boobs and grumpiness kicked in soon enough though! So if you get the same 'symptoms' every month, I would suggest you ignore them and don't get your hopes up (cos it's just so darned dispiriting!) unless something changes.

Good luck!!

When I got pregnant I had implantation bleeding (which was less than a day) a week before my period was due and lots of cramping. Thought implantation bleeding and cramping was early period (even stocked up on Tampax!) but when period didn't come and the cramping continued, thought it was probably pregnancy - and it was! I waited until a few days after my period was due before i did a test though.
