Consistent Progesterone Scores of 1

Hi all,

I've got a doctor's appointment booked but I couldn't get in for two weeks so I was hoping maybe someone on here might be able to give me an inkling of what might happen in the meantime.

We've been TTC for a year with no luck, both 31. Husband has been checked and got normal results. I've had progesterone tests for the last three cycles on days 22, 24 and 26 and each one has come back with a score of 1. My cycles are irregular and range from 33 days to 70. They're generally getting longer each time, which was really worrying me at first, but I've had a scan and everything came back normal with that. My skin has been terrible since I came off the pill and I get migraines as well.

I tried ovulation strips on a couple of cycles, it's hard because they're so long- I have to use a lot of strips! On one cycle I got a positive but it was right towards the end of my cycle. On another cycle I got nothing.

I was told I need to do the progesterone tests on three cycles and I've just had my last test. What are is the doctor likely to recommend from this?

Thanks for any advice!

Hi @FelisMargarita, I had similar situation to you! 3 cycles of bloods and only ovulated on one. My GP referred me to gyne who have put me on Clomid to induce ovulation and regulate cycles, I'm still in the first one. Also had the scan which you'd already had. might be different for you but there will be some form of action plan. Good luck!

@willowjasmine, thanks for that. I was wondering if Clomid might be the next step. I hope I can stay with my GP rather than being referred on. I changed to her when we started TTC because she's a women's health specialist (hence why she's never at the surgery). Also my last GPs surgery was two quite grumpy men who seemed to be counting down the days to retirement! Glad I'm not having to talk to them about this.

Good luck to you too!
