Hello

I was just wondering if anyone else has had really bad side effects from this Birth Control?

I have had this for almost two years. I have had no periods with this but, have never really had a regular cycle since starting in my early teens.

I was okay for the first few months and then all of a sudden I have had depression, anxiety, stress to the point my head feels all though it will explode with pressure, mood swings that both I or DP ever thought I could have, low self esteem, no confidence, have become recluse, hardly do my hair and makeup through no motivation, tired. To put it bluntly, I'm not me! I just thought it was just becoming a Mum again for the third time, running a home and working. I just thought I was a bit low but, my partner said that I'm nothing like I used to be and then I was told by a work collegue that the same happened to her when she had the implant and when she had it taken out she eventually became somewhat of her normal self.

I am booking an appointment tomorrow to have it removed but wanted to see how many other women have been reduced to psychotic tempers be a use of hormonal Birth control. Thanks.

My sister didn't get on with it either. Made her go a bit crazy with terrible mood swings

Really! It's a bit mad that they give this to women knowing what effect it can have on them. Ty x

Certain pills make me really depressed. It's a well-known side effect of hormonal contraception for some people. It's also part of the reason they withdrew trials for the men's pill as men aren't expected to put up with it (but women are).

I heard they did trials for men. It's not like women don't have enough to deal with, it would be nice for a break. I had similar side affects on the Inplanon like 12 years ago. I have read about some of the pills an do this due to the hormones in it.
