How long is your cycle and when do you ovulate?

Hello ladies,

As above! :)

My cycle has been completely doolally since I had a miscarriage in October.

Usually my cycles are 33 days, ovulating around day 19.

Based on this I should be ovulating these last couple of days (am on CD 22) but tests have been negative, so I might have missed it 🙄 or it might still be to come this month.

Just interested to know what's 'normal' for other women!

Thank you
x

Hi, I had a miscarriage last June and had a erpc, since then my periods have only been lasting 3 days, lighter than they were and have been 22 days, 23 days, 25 days and odd time two periods in one month. Been using clear blue ovulation tests for the last two cycles and get my peak on day 9 don't know if that's within normal range, I think I ovulate a few days after my peak. X

Thanks Me too - miscarriage in October and now very short cycles. Last two 21 days. Had a couple of 14 day ones, hasn't been normal at all.

Tried to do Clearblue for the first time last month, but had 4 days of high fert testing twice a day, and then I run out of strips Sad

So high fert were days 6-10 and then no test evening of day 10, no test morning of day 11. Tested again evening day 11 and it said low fertility. So who knows?

We gave it a few goes Blush but I can't say Clearblue made it any easier than just guessing with so many high fert days. Maybe I'm not actually ovulating or I just missed it?

I have two friends both with one DC each, who have had miscarriages on their second pregnancy and now can't seem to get pregnant again. I already have one DC too.

I have a 30 day cycle and always ovulate on CD18 giving me a 12 day luteal phase - so I ovulate quite late!

sixlittlewitches · 28/01/2019 17:46

Do you have any DC already ? @MollyFaith00 @Lauraliverpool

The month I got pregnant with my DS we only did it once on day 9 GrinMy cycles were 26 days way back then. I do think some apps put ovulation too late, or maybe the key is to do if before ovulation . I wish I had the answers.

ifoundthebread · 28/01/2019 17:47

29 days cycle, period CD 1-6, ovulate CD 9.

@sixlittlewitches I have a little boy who's 2 and a half. I'm waiting on blood tests to check for ovulation, hopefully will know on Thu when they ring me, I'm thinking I'm not or if I am then need to try and DTD more often! I use Flo app but just take that with a pinch of salt. I'm hoping we can start tonight, wish I knew exactly when a peak appears you know exactly when ovulation happens.

Lauraliverpool · 28/01/2019 18:01

Do any of you find your boobs are tender few days after your period?

MollyFaith00 · 28/01/2019 18:39

Thanks everyone for replying!! It's so helpful.

I didn't think I could ovulate early but it seems this could be completely possible as per your experiences @sixlittlewitches and @ifoundthebread.

I did get some signs earlier this month (felt unusually frisky haha) but didn't think much of it... hey ho hopefully we caught it!

@sixlittlewitches I have a DD who is soon turning three. We were extraordinarily lucky and fell pregnant first month with her, and then again first month with our little boy who sadly we lost at 19 weeks gestation (so traumatic).

We decided to start trying again this month but my body feels all over the place 😭.

Sorry to hear of your losses too @sixlittlewitches and @Lauraliverpool. Thanks

Sorry - I should say we're trying 'properly' this month. We didn't use protection last month but think we were too late to catch ovulation in the end

@MollyFaith00 thank you 💐 and sorry to hear of your loss. Can start to take its toll with everything you go through. X

Just to say thank you ladies that replied yesterday... it turns out I hadn't missed it after all! Just took this OPK and it looks positive to me. Am on CD 23 so just a few days late this month.

Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

Wow that looks very positive @MollyFaith00 !!!

Before having my first baby my cycles were about 35 days long! Got pregnant first month of trying. After she was born I didn't really have any periods for 8 months until I stopped breastfeeding. After that they were 29-32 days long.

I got pregnant in October and had a miscarriage in December. From first day of miscarriage bleeding to the next period was about 30 days. But it was less than 2 weeks after I finally got a negative pregnancy test so I actually thought I might be due to ovulate when I then started bleeding! I've then just had a 16 day cycle. Shortest cycle of my life. Think I've only ever had a textbook 28 day cycle once!

The period I just had only lasted 3 days. It ended on Sunday and I am showing signs of ovulation already although no positive OPK yet.

Anyway sorry for the essay! Good luck TTC and I am very sorry for your loss xxxx
