BFP after mc

Hello all...
I'm just wondering if anybody has any good tips on how to not constantly worry.
I just got my bfp and am excited but my overriding feeling is fear. I'm so scared it's all going to go wrong again. And then I worry that my worrying will cause something bad to happen.
My partner is great but he's also understandably nervous.
Has anybody any experience of pregnancy after miscarriage and how did you cope with the nerves?
I dont really have any symptoms either (probably too early) so it doesnt feel real yet and I'm just waiting for it all to end Sad

Hi ladies,

I think I've found my people! My husband and I tried for 2 years to conceive our son, then we tried for another two and a half years with a MC along the way a year ago. I just got a BFP on Wednesday! I'm 4+1 at the mo, but I've had a couple of days where I've had pink spotting. It's not been heavy and I've had no accompanying pain, but every time I go to the toilet I've got to steel myself because I'm terrified there's going to be blood.

I know that it's important to try to relax, but it's hard isn't it. I'm going to book an early scan when I'm 7 weeks. It's crazy to think that it less than three weeks away, but it feels like a lifetime.

I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies.

wanderlustgirl · 25/01/2019 13:38

@Mistymeow that's slightly reassuring to hear. It seems to be light but not slowing down, I had a small clot like Fleming thing earlier (sorry tmi) but nothing like a period and my cramps have been gentle like my last pregnancy which I think is the body adjusting! I'm currently on a 2 week holiday but I will go to the doctors when I am back! Xx

wanderlustgirl · 25/01/2019 13:40

@Glitterandunicorns welcome to the group! Fingers crossed for you! I'm sure the 3 weeks will fly by! Xx

Glitterandunicorns · 25/01/2019 13:52

@wanderlustgirl thank you!

wanderlustgirl · 28/01/2019 05:48

I have had a barely there positive now, I assume my spotting was more than spotting or I have had some sort of chemical!

Good luck to everyone else on their journeys, keeping my fingers crossed xxx

Glitterandunicorns · 28/01/2019 06:08

Hi @wanderlustgirl, is it possible that the strength of the line is down to the test you used, rather than HCG levels? I'd suggest it might be worth seeing your GP, especially if you haven't bled very heavily. I know it's too early for a scan for you, but I had a similar situation last year and the EPU did some blood tests over a couple of days to confirm what was happening.

Best of luck, and look after yourself. Thanks

wanderlustgirl · 28/01/2019 06:18

@Glitterandunicorns It wasn't my FMU but I still feel it was more negative than anything else, I had got a strong positive earlier in the week using the same brand. My bleeding wasn't heavy but it's been over a week now...

I am away at the moment so I can't get to the doctors till next week, I will still as soon as I am back!

Thank you 🌸

Mistymeow · 28/01/2019 08:27

@wanderlustgirl sorry to hear about the test. If spotting was light and not heavy/red like a period it’s possible it was from implantation (some women spot throughout their whole pregnancy). I don’t want to give false hope but it doesn’t sound like your period and SMU may be too dilute to give a good line. Blood test from the GP would be an idea when you’re back. Sorry you have the stress of all this, hope you’re ok.

How is everyone doing? My spotting has eased off now and I threw up a bit yesterday. Still getting anxious but I’m using a mindfulness app which is calming me down.

missrose0110 · 03/03/2019 13:35

How is everybody doing on here? X

Mistymeow · 03/03/2019 19:26

Hi @misrose0110 I’m doing ok, thanks for asking. I’m around 9 weeks. I had a scan at 7 weeks after some light spotting and pain. EPU were lovely and reassured me that everything looked normal even though baby measured 6 weeks. There was a strong heartbeat. I’m very scared of scans so I’m hoping not to have another until the 12 week. I’m a bit nervous because it was around this time I started miscarrying the last time. How are you doing? Is everyone else ok?

Mistymeow · 03/03/2019 19:36

Sorry meant to write @missrose0110

missrose0110 · 03/03/2019 20:34

@Mistymeow I understand exactly what you mean, I've just passed the point I previously miscarried too. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and just praying everything is okay, we didn't find out things had gone wrong until the 12 Week scan last time, I'm hoping baby is healthy and growing in there! Have you got a date for your 12 week scan yet? I haven't but I book in next week and I think the scan will be the last week of March x

Mistymeow · 04/03/2019 17:17

@missrose0110 My scan was meant to be 20th March but since EPU put me back a week they've said this is now too early, so I've got mine on April 2nd when I'll be 13 or 14 weeks. It seems like an age to wait! I have had my booking in appointment, the midwife was lovely and I get to see her throughout my pregnancy. Just hoping so much the little one makes it. I hope you're coping ok x

russiandwarf · 05/03/2019 15:59

Hi all, also just popping back to see how everyone is doing. I'm 9 weeks now, just had booking in appt this morning. Feel like I've got a loss of symptoms today and struggling not to panic 😣 We had an early private scan at 8 weeks - first time I've managed to see a heartbeat. Feel like I need to go for another one before 12 weeks in order not to totally lose the plot... Anyone else had any loss of symptoms? I've been told they come and go at this stage but still I'm stressing...Hope everyone else is doing well!

missrose0110 · 05/03/2019 17:27

@russiandwarf yes! I've been feeling the exact same, I'm 9wk1 and I'm panicking my symptoms don't feel as bad as they were. Really want an early scan, but OH doesn't want to have one as he thinks last time an early scan gave us false hope everything would be okay. Really hoping this baby sticks around

@Mistymeow I bet that's frustrating them moving your dates back!

russiandwarf · 05/03/2019 17:40

@missrose0110 The Midwife didn't seem concerned about the loss of symptoms and the lady I see for fertility acupuncture has repeatedly told me symptoms come and go. So I suppose that's a good sign for us both! I have caved and booked another scan for Friday 😳 Honestly I think I would just wait til 12 weeks like your DH says, but I'm 39 and all I can think is that if all is not ok I need to know sooner rather than later because I need to get back on the list with the IVF clinic. I know that sounds terrible but I'm just so conscious of age and a bit desperate!

missrose0110 · 05/03/2019 18:03

@russiandwarf yes, 12 weeks just seems so far away though doesn't it? I keep having bursts where I'm really anxious. I go from thinking my mmc was bad luck and could have happened to anyone, to convincing myself there's something wrong with me and it's going to happen again. Such an anxious time isn't it x

russiandwarf · 05/03/2019 22:22

@missrose0110 yes isn't it. 12 weeks is such a long time! I'm exactly the same, sometimes ok and then sometimes just completely anxious and on edge. Just trying to scrape through one day at a time, it's a comfort that we're not alone though and can share on here. Difficult when you can't talk to friends because you don't want to tell anyone 😕

missrose0110 · 05/03/2019 22:27

@russiandwarf yes I know what you mean, we have barely told anyone, so I'm real life I just have smile and pretend I'm not completely anxious lol. It's good to come on here and be anonymous and speak to people in similar situations x
