Hi!
We're thinking of having a third child to add to our family, I'm 34 and starting to wonder if I'm "too old" I've had a few comments about being older when they're teenagers but to be honest it hadn't crossed my mind! LO's are 2 and 4 x

You are definitely not too old!

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 21/01/2019 12:27

I had ds's at 37+43!! You are still a bairn!!

IAmSloth · 21/01/2019 12:31

I had my 1st at 33 and second at 36, not too old at all! We would have a 3rd if space allowed

Kescilly · 21/01/2019 12:34

A casual browse of the conception forum would show you that there are plenty of women trying for a child that are older.

Lucylondon32 · 21/01/2019 12:41

Thank you! I'm still trying to navigate the forums, I'll have a look ☺️ xx

I turn 34 tomorrow and want another. Your not too old! Really hope I can still have more that’s my worry as been trying for a few months

bellinisurge · 21/01/2019 12:49

I had my first baby at 41. My mum has her last baby (me) at 36. Fifty years ago.

Seniorschoolmum · 21/01/2019 12:51

First baby at 45 here. No problems yet and ds is now 10.

So no, I don’t think you are too old. Smile

I'm 34 and thinking of having a 6th 🙈 has my first at 17 and 5th at 32

Had my*

AWhistlingWoman · 21/01/2019 12:54

I had my third at 34. Easiest pregnancy and birth of the lot. But, I would say that I am feeling my age now. She is five and I am pushing forty and I feel like she has an older, less fun mum than my others did. But that just could be trying to juggle full time work and two other dc rather than being older.
I do feel my age on the playground at school drop off a bit but that could vary depending on whereabouts you live and the average age of the mums there!

WhatASmashingBlouse · 21/01/2019 12:57

Too old!? I'm 33 and haven't even had any yet!

Blocker · 21/01/2019 12:57

I just had my third and I'm 39 this year Shock

Others are almost 4 and almost 2 so all have been born since I was 34.

I don't think 34 is too old by any means

PrettyPurpleDress2 · 21/01/2019 12:59

Sounds like perfect age for you to be having your last child and perfect age gap between the kids!! I had my 3rd at 34 and my hard limit was no more babies once I'm 35. The older kids were 4 & 3 at that point.

CountFosco · 21/01/2019 12:59

34 is not too old, and definitely not for a third DC. I had mine at 36, 38 and 41. Pregnant first month of trying each time, no complications during pregnancy, shared care for the third only because of my age, three healthy babies.

Explorers10 · 21/01/2019 13:02

Can I ask those who had children at 34 plus did you struggle to conceive straight away? Only ask as I fell pregnant straight away with 1st and 2nd not happening

WildFlower2019 · 21/01/2019 13:30

Really? Too old? I'm TTC and will be 34 when I give birth if we conceive now. I've never once thought I'd be too old???

This'll be my first baby. I literally don't know anybody who has had a baby before 30,31. This age seems to norm in my little world. Lots of my friends have no long had their first and will prob have their second baby in the next few years.

The consultant I spoke with after a loss last year said I was "still young and healthy so had nothing to worry about". Young!!!! She used the word young 😁

If you and your DP want a third baby, have one!!!! You're not too old!!!!! Don't listen to anybody else!

Lucylondon32 · 21/01/2019 13:37

@WildFlower2019 thank you so much for the reassurance! Its mostly throwaway comments and it had never even crossed my mind until I started to talk about having another one that I might be an "older mum" x
I certainly don't feel old x
