Hi all, just wondered if I could have a bit of advice, moral support or if needed, a kick up the bum!!

DP and I have been ttc since February of last year with no luck.
Started first cycle of clomid in December just gone.
I haven’t used the opk this month just because of the sheer disappointment of seeing an ‘almost.’
I have high prolactin at 700 and awaiting my endocrinologist appointment in March?!?

Just wondered if anyone had been through something similar and if anyone got their bfp?

Thanks

Wanted to add that I took clomid 29th dec - 2nd Jan.
Didn’t have a period until June when I had two on one month, nothing in July.
August 41 day cycle
September 36 days
October 37 days
November 37 days
December 32 days and awaiting bfp 🤞🏻 Or af 😭

I'm sorry I have no advice.
Just support and to bump your thread -- hope someone sees and is able to offer advice.

We're ttc,it's I think the 7th cycle now.
We're 28 and healthy. It's frustrating and upsetting getting BFN every month.

Thanks

It's the prolactin. It makes ovulation irregular. Don't take more clomid until that's sorted as you can only take clomid for a certain number of cycles. It caused me to grow a large fibroid while taking it for 6 cycles... i think that's one reason for the cycle limit.

It really is SuziQ10 :-( I’m 30 and been healthy all my life but been on the pill with no break for 9 years too.

Thanks physicskate, is it not possible to conceive with irregular periods and high prolactin? I usually do do the opks and do ovulate but haven’t this month x

I'm pretty sure prolactin is associated with difficulty conceiving and negative outcomes if you do become pregnant. Get it sorted first - it's only a couple months.

I will thanks. March 5th is my appointment so not even that. Thanks x

Sorry no real advice but didn’t want to just read and scroll past. This was me 2 years ago!!
DH and I were ttc for years, I’ve got really long and irregular cycles too (around 35 days on average) so all the ovulation apps and kits etc were pretty useless as they’re based around 28 days.
I did use ovulation testing strips (the cheapies you get in bulk off amazon) and tested different times of day, eventually you will start to notice a rough sort of pattern but it takes time. I got a very clear positive when I tested early morning one day (about 5am before work 😬 I literally pounced in poor DH who was fast asleep 😂) and that was it for us.
I also used preseed lube and I think that helped, definitely worth a try if you haven’t already.
We now have our DS who’s almost 15 months old 😊 so it is DEFINITELY possible to conceive with irregular cycles!
It’s so, so stressful. I remember it too well. The dread and worry of thinking there’s something ‘wrong’ but I honestly think stressing over it makes it so much worse (easier said than done, I know!)
I really hope you get the result you’re hoping for soon, OP. Just don’t lose hope ❤️ Flowers

Meant to add - I was also on the pill with no break for around 6 years, and I think that messed things up even more for us too x

Thank you so much for the absolutely lovely reply and congratulations on having your lovely son. It’s hard the waiting game isn’t it?

I wish I’d have came off the pill sooner but DP wasn’t ready and now he can’t wait - think that makes it all the more stressful and not great for the prolactin.

With this round of clomid I took on cd2-6 I had no side effects which were a bonus and haven’t used those kits this month as like you say, irregular, kind of useless!! 😂

I’m now on cd26 and bbs are sore, I have a cold sore, extreme lower back pain and at around cd20 I had a pain low down that hurt to go over speed bumps in the road - but bfn as of cd22. Not sure if it’s worth testing again or just await af which I’m due anywhere between cd 33-35.

Again, thanks so much for the great reply and really positive to hear xx

Also meant to add, this is the first month of using preseed also. Maybe too much, and you don’t have to answer, but how owften fid you bd from your last af?

Hi girls,
Just wanted to jump in on this conversation too!
My husband and I have been trying for our first baby since June last year (id been on the pill for about 9 years before that)
Unfortunately I've got really irregular periods, I always had done to be honest, but never thought twice about it when I was a teenager! I'm now 30 and haven't had a period since October last year, before that they were 5 weeks, 7 weeks and the 4 weeks apart!
I've had some blood tests done and I've had higher than normal levels of prolactin on both occasions. Luckily my doctor has referred me to an endocrinologist and to an infertility gynaecologist... which are both early March! So we'll see what happens from then really!!
I've heard some positive stories on here about some of the girls who have had high prolactin and have still gone on to have children Smile which is nice and positive!

Sorry for the late reply! I didn’t mean to leave you hanging OP!
By BD do you mean doing the deed? 😬😂 or something else?
How are things? X
