I need some inspiration ladies! We've just completed our 15th cycle of ttc with nothing but a CP to show for it. GP said to keep trying for a few more months before he'llrefer us on. We're doing all the right things like using opks, using fertility gel etc but nothing happening.
Has anyone been in this situation and suddenly one cycle has suddenly worked???

Yep just over two years trying with DS, me and dh were taking multi vitamins for conception, tracking ovulation etc..all tests came back normal, our next step was for me to have a dye test to check for blockages and then onto IVF, we decided we would have a break for a few months as it was so stressful and have some time as a couple before i had the test, that was in the March and in april we had our BFP.

When trying for DC#2 we were fully preparing ourselves for another year or more trying as we are both older this time, and we got our BFP on cycle 2, im currently 17weeks.

TTC is a stresful heartbreaking journey that not everyone understands, and if one more person had told me to relax it will happen i think i would have screamed. OP Do as your GP says a couple more month then Push them for the tests.

Brumbrum05 · 19/01/2019 17:42

Thank you! I'm with you on the "Oh just relax, stop trying, it'll happen". If only it were that easy.
Congrats on yours!

Yup. We were just approaching the magical 2 year mark so we could be referred (despite there clearly being something wobbly with me as I was having erratic/lengthy cycles). Fell pg after going for acupuncture and I'm currently 38 weeks. I like to think it was the acupuncture, but open to the idea that it was a placebo effect and completely unrelated all at the same time.

TTC is stressful and crap. Late night google searches, spending a fortune on books and things to pee on. Good luck OP, wishing you the best.

Hi brumbrum05
Thank God I’ve found someone else who’se goin up the walls too!

My story briefly:
I’m 36
TTC since Nov’17 but v short cycles 20-24 days so I think this is cycle 22. Bar goin to the doctor ive been doing everything from OPK, preseed, pregnacare conception vitamins for both me and DP.
NOTHING is working!
I’m out an absolute fortune on pregnancy tests, OPKs and God knows what else. And like you’se, I’d ONE more person fella me to relax i’m gonna officially lose the plot.
DTD has become so mondane, monotonous and actually i’d Go as far as saying horrible!
There’s no enjoyment in it.
Then there’s the “which position is best”
Tried all, still nothing working.
Legs in the air for 10mins after myth?! Not working.
Whoever said trying for a baby was so much fun didn’t have to try this f*^%#king hard. 😫😫😫😭😭😭😭

Brumbrum05 · 20/01/2019 08:57

Wonkydonk, congrats! I've considered acupuncture but then I saw how much it cost. I might reconsider after reading your story. Hope all goes well over the next few weeks for you.

Broodyaf
I'm sick of spending money on things to wee on but I just can't seem to help it! Every month I say I wont do it but every month I'm down to asda stocking up again. And I totally agree about sex! I always thought we'd never become one of those couples but we totally have. It's like a military operation.

It took 14 months and 2 miscarriages first time round. GP had just referred us for investigations.

2nd DC was conceived after one night trying.

Broodyaf · 20/01/2019 12:16

Wonkydonk congratulations!
I never tried acupuncture but I tried reflexology and it didn’t work. Might try acupuncture!

Brumbrum - if it’s any help to u to cut down the spending OMG U can buy the cheap OPKs and pregnancy tests on eBay - 25 pregnancy test for £2.50, they’re ultra early as well (10miu) cos I’m like u, every month I say I’m not gonna test. I get to 8 DPO and I’m testing constantly! I can’t helo it. OH says to wait u til I miss a period.... easier said than done when it’s ALL I can think about 😫

MynameisJune · 20/01/2019 12:34

Yep 19 months of trying with only an early MC to show for it we’d been tested came back as all normal. Decided to take a break and move jobs before going down the IVF route. That was in the July, I was offered a new job 2 weeks later and 2 weeks after that got pregnant after DTD once that whole month. Like you we’d done everything right for 19 cycles, perfectly timed, OPK’s etc.

coragreta · 20/01/2019 12:42

I was trying for 18months. Was booked in for tests and got pregnant that month. Got pregnant first month trying with Dc2.
Have you tried a fertility meditation? I know it sounds bonkers and I'm sure it won't help everyone but I did it for two months before I conceived and it was the only thing I did differently. There's an app on iTunes and you just listen before you go to sleep. If anything you'll have a good nights sleep.

Brumbrum05 · 20/01/2019 12:50

Thank you ladies for the hope!
Broodyaf I'll have a look at those tests. I refuse to pay for frer or clear blue ones!
And the meditation sounds interesting. Like you say, at least I'll sleep well!
Thank you ladies, you've definitely made me feel a bit more positive.

Broodyaf · 20/01/2019 13:01

I’ve never heard of fertility meditation but thankfully I don’t have any problem sleeping - it I’m havin seriously vivid dreams this past few months. I’ve never been able to get into the whole media ration/relaxation techniques, even when I’m gettin reflexology or a massage my head is thinking a million other things 🙈😂 I’m just one of those people that can’t relax.
The other thing is, I’m not 100% sure but I think I may have had a chemical pregnancy last cycle. On 24th Dec I got a v faint positive, on 25th Dec a darker positive, but tested negative every other day and on 1st Jan AF came. Don’t know whether test on 24th was EVAP & text on 25th was wrong or what? Can’t explain it but the bleed that came was like a completely normal period that lasted same length of time as a normal one. OH adamant I was pregnant, I’m adamant I wasn’t
Here’s the pics

Is there any hope???

Brumbrum05 · 20/01/2019 13:44

That's exactly what happened to me. GP said we must have fertilised but not implanted.

OP posts:
Broodyaf · 20/01/2019 13:48

Yeah, where it doesn’t stick right. If I hadn’t have done those pregnancy tests i’d Have been moment the wiser. Were ur tests more positive than mine if that makes sense? Lol

Brumbrum05 · 21/01/2019 11:57

I did 2 tests that were both slightly paler than the control. Tested again the next day and 100% bfn. Did about 8 tests and all neg. Then af arrived.

VenusStarr · 21/01/2019 19:07

How old are you @Brumbrum05? We've been trying for a similar amount of time. The GP said we could start the bloods, Scans and semen analysis back in November. Mine are all back but dh SA appointment was pushed back to March so we got that done privately and going the GP will send our referral in. My point being its mot a simple case of just referring and the tests can take a while.

Good luck
