Sorry to start another thread but needed help, we've been trying only for a few months and this cycle (no 5) I thought I'd give OPK a go, started testing once a day since CD 9 and either got a line you could only see with a real squint or that you could just about see as super super faint, so tested pretty much every other day since. On CD20 today of an average 31D cycle and I have got this, but I have literally not been to the loo all day so it's about an 8hr hold... would this be positive or almost positive do we think? Or maybe it's this strong as I've not been all day 🙈 took this test about half an hour ago but the picture was taken within time frame of test

This looks negative to me. I'm on my third month using OPKs and this is the first month I've actually had a positive one. I now test 2-3 times a day which is how I think I caught it. I'm also temping too so know that my positive OPK was actually correct

thinkingaboutthinking19 · 18/01/2019 18:38

That's negative but doesn't look like you're too far off getting a positive. If you're able to I would test a couple of times a day. Generally around 10am, 2pm and 6pm I think is what they suggest is best but whatever works for you.

If I were you though I would make sure that you get BDing every other day from now until you get a positive as once you have a positive you should ovulate within 24hrs (generally speaking) and it is actually the days leading up to ovulation that you are most fertile.
Best of luck.

I also recommend temping. Will try and find a picture of a positive OPK that I had last cycle so you can see roughly what you're looking for.

Steffas17 · 18/01/2019 18:40

Thanks guys, it's hard to test too much as I work in an office so not easy to leave and test but will definitely take the advice and get to it 🙊

Yes it is hard but don't worry too much. The OPK posted does suggest you're close so I think as long as your covering your bases (so to speak) you should be ok.
I wouldn't worry too much about getting a proper positive OPK some people only have short surges so struggle to catch it with an OPK.
Are you temping or looking at any other signs? Unfortunately temping is really the only way to confirm ovulation.
Here is a pic of a positive OPK from my last cycle - sorry it's not a Greta pic but should give you an idea of what to look for.

Thanks @thinkingaboutthinking19 that's a great help. No I don't do anything else, we just wanted to see what happened but then I've become impatient so I got some tests, I don't tell but I notice sometimes when I get warmer so hopefully that will happen in the next day or so. Odd time I get a little niggle on either my right side or left so maybe that coincides with ovulation too 🤔 got a little niggle in my left side tonight so maybe that's a good thing. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 I've just grown impatient 😂

I know the feeling. I get so impatient we are trying for #2 and I thought I would be more patient this time around but it's not the case.

Hope you get lucky and get your BFP soon.

Steffas17 · 18/01/2019 19:14

Thanks and the same for you 🤞🏻
This will be our first together but hubby has kids from his previous gf

What would you recommend for temping? I keep getting negatives on opks and can't test throughout the day as suggested... so many options out there not sure what's best!

Steffas17 · 19/01/2019 15:41

So I think maybe I missed the surge for testing as I've done two today, one mid morning and other just now and got the top two today so the strongest was yesterday so maybe my surge was Thursday / Friday morning so I may have ovulated yesterday or today 🤔 let's see what happens 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Fingers crossed for you! None of my tests have been very strong at all so I've no idea if/when I ovulated! Only
Recently had my coil removed so I'm assuming it's just my body getting back to normal...

Steffas17 · 20/01/2019 08:59

Thanks @Nfis I hope you get some good results soon too 🤞🏻
