Has anyone been thirsty and got a BFP

Recently since about 6dpo I have been feeling VERY thirsty and my mouth has been dry.

Has anyone had this as a symptom before getting a BFP?

I remember I had very dry lips before my BFP. Good luck!

You wouldn't start to implant until 8/9 dpo so won't be pregnancy related but good luck!

Blueflower22 · 18/01/2019 09:45

@Sausi how soon after ovulation did you get it?

It was about 7-8dpo if I remember correctly. I got my BFP at 10dpo and it was a couple of days before that. And strange smelling urine too. I got both with both my pregnancies (miscarried first one) I knew I was pregnant from that when test was still BFN at 8 & 9dpo. Good luck!

Implantation is from 6 - 12 days DPO, not 8.

And yes, really bloody thirsty, especially at night when I was also really hot and had weird dreams!

Implantation usually occurs between days 8 and 9, in some cases as early as 7 or as late as 12, an embryo will reach blastocyst around day 5 or 6 then will hatch and then hopefully implantation occurs and it takes time for HCG to start rising. Hopefully OP is pregnant but implantation doesn't happen on day 6

NoWordForFluffy · 18/01/2019 21:10

No, it can be on day 6. Plenty of sources out there saying that the range is 6-12 days.

It certainly isn't always as late as day 8 as you stated, else nobody would ever get a 9 DPO positive test.

Countdown to pregnancy is really good for tracking ovulation/implantation/early pregnancy symptoms, it shows you when you are most likely to implant and you can track 2ww symptoms by DPO and see which turned into a BFP

I got 9 DPO positives with both of my pregnancies, so clearly had implantation a few days before that. It might be uncommon, but that doesn't mean it never happens!

Lauren83 · 18/01/2019 21:16

Yes got a 9dpo BFP on FRER myself on IVF 4 and IVF 5, confirmed with a blood HCG of 21 so likely implanted 8dpo. If you implant 6dpo which is very rare and very early it takes a while for your levels to rise slowly so it's not likely symptoms would show until HCG was higher.

Hopefully OP implanted on day 6 and her symptoms are from the BFP

It could well be. Thirst is a symptom for some people. 6 dpo you could have implanted. Good luck.
I always get a cold too.

crazygirluk · 18/01/2019 21:23

Yes! I've never found many people with the same though. With my second and third pregnancy being thirsty was my first and pretty much only symptom.
The first time I thought I was becoming diabetic with the drinking and weeing all the time so I booked a Dr appointment and then took a test that day and got a positive.
With my third (surprise) pregnancy I was thirsty again and mentioned to my husband and we joked that I was pregnant. And yep, we were right.
I don't know exactly how many dpo I was as I have irregular periods due to PCOS.
But yes, I can confirm it can definitely be an early symptom.

Thanks everyone for your replies so far, I took a frer test yesterday at 9dpo but got a negative. So not sure why the extreme thirst is
