hello,
bit of a complication, but am curious as to if gps will still do urine/blood samples to test if pregnant. i took three at home tests as my period is over two weeks late, and they were all positive.
but am anxious because recently went on antidepressants and don't know if they can cause false positives.
also called my gp and they said i need to come in to do a self referral to a midwife ?
why would i do that if i don't even know for certain i am pregnant?

i recently switched from sertraline to mirtazapine - could that be causing false positives?

Hi @l0psy doctors won't do tests to check you're pregnant
If your tests have come back positive and you're late then you're pregnant
I'm assuming you're about six weeks along
You need to take the advice and self refer to a midwife who will give you an appointment at around 8 weeks
Anti depressants cannot cause false positives.
You are pregnant

They don’t do tests any more, if you are using a decent pregnancy test it is accurate. 3 tests means you are pregnant. Antidepressants do not cause false positives on pregnancy tests.

Congratulations! Flowers

It sounds as if you are anxious. You need to phone your doctors surgery and ask for a booking in appointment to see the midwife. This would usually be in the next two weeks (at which point you would count as 8 weeks pregnant). They will book a scan for you about one month later (so at 12 weeks pregnant). You can discuss all sorts of other things with the midwife at the booking in appointment, but 3 positive tests is complete confirmation, you are pregnant.
