I'm 41 and been advised by local hospital I have 'unexplained infertility' and need IVF to conceive. DP has been given all clear and the conception issue is with me.
DP and I are unable to receive IVF on the NHS as he has 2 DD's from previous relationship.
We're not poor but by no means wealthy at all, so, given the high cost of IVF in the UK we're exploring overseas IVF before we proceed any further in the UK.
Please can you share your experiences with IVF in the UK and overseas with me, there's so much info out there I need your help. Thanks in advance :)

We were over the age to get ivf in uk by the time our local hospital stopped cancelling appointments and saw me for follow up of the investigations they ordered (not usually a conspiracy theorist but very convenient not to have to offer treatment on the NHS to a couple on the age limit). However, after being told we’d need donor egg ivf, we knew we couldn’t afford treatment in the UK so investigated international options.

We chose a clinic in Cyprus and had our first cycle 15 months ago. Unfortunately that cycle was unsuccessful and so we planned a second cycle last year. As often happens in life, things got in the way and we ended up postponing from May to October, then November and, finally, we flew out to Cyprus last Wednesday.

We are having embryo transfer on Wednesday and, at the moment, have got 10-13 embryos at day 3 stage ready to choose from. Any suitable will be frozen for future use if needed.
