Hi everyone
I’m about to finish my last pack of pills before ttc.
I want to try and track ovulation and I’m abit clueless how the OPKs work.
Having done a little research on here and online in general I think I’ll give the cheap one step ones a go to try and be more cost effective than the clear blue ones!

So I have a couple of questions if you lovely ladies could help me out:

Roughly when in my cycle should I start testing?
And what time of day should I test? I read something snogs mid afternoon being ideal but can no longer find the site I read that on so assume it’s not like a pregnancy test when first thing is important.

I am also contemplating temping but don’t want to try and out too much pressure on myself! The Ava bracelet looks interesting but also expensive!

Thanks everyone

I decided the same a while ago. I bought a load of the cheap one steps and they worked for me - pregnant first month. I also temped too as had been on the pill so long I wanted to double check I was ovulating.

I began testing around a week cd8 just to be on the safe side. I tested mid morning/afternoon. Don't use fmu. When the line starts to get darker begin testing twice a day until you get a positive.

Thanks @pastaallday
Do you mean you did 2 tests per day one mid morning and one mid afternoon?

That’s why I am thinking about temping too as want to see what’s happening post pill and of course about optimising my chances of getting pregnant quickly. I think that’s why the Ava bracelet appeals to make temping and data collection easier! Just not sure on the price!

Same as pastaallday I started from about cd8 as I have a shorter cycle. I tested about 2pm every day. You can do twice a day when you get closer to your ovulation day. I got pregnant first cycle this time trying for #2 and I also used them when trying for #1. I found them really good and inexpensive.
