Anybody starting their tww?
Mine starts today, my app says test on the 25th so I'm challenging myself not to test early this time!

Come join me for 14 days of symptom spotting and a healthy dose of moaning about mean AF.

Thank you!! Yes sometimes just any news feels like good news in some way doesn't it. Hopefully it's a case of popping a pill and BFP 😂

Lauraliverpool · 06/02/2019 20:29

@agteach makes it feel like you're making head way. 😀

HeartvsHead · 06/02/2019 20:50

@agteacht if the FSH and LH levels were low the Dr probably would have mentioned them. If they are ok you are probably still ovulating as they cause an egg to mature and release.

If high prolactin often you don't have enough progesterone produced to keep uterus lining thick and that can affect fertility. Loads of causes of high prolactin (including PCOS) so should imagine they will start by investigating that and go from there.

On the road to answers!

HeartvsHead · 06/02/2019 20:54

Also it can affect ovulation but if you are having regular periods it's unlike to be the case. Normally high prolactin will stop periods completely (if no ovulation) or make then very irregular (ovulation affected occasionally).

agteacht · 06/02/2019 21:08

Ooh that's so helpful @HeartvsHead

The LH is 4.9 and FSH is 5.3. From a bit of googling I read that if it's PCOS the ratio LH:FSH would be at least 2:1. So I think that's okay and it's just a prolactin issue. Which feels like it's much more solvable (maybe I'm only ovulating sometimes or similar).

ShortandSweet96 · 06/02/2019 21:47

Anyone know of there is any science in putting a pillow under your bum after dtd?
OH is laughing at me and I feel like an idiot but every little helps right?! Grin

I do ShortandSweet96 and my legs up in the air figure it can't do no harm 😂

Lauraliverpool · 06/02/2019 22:17

@HeartvsHead can short cycles affect ovulation?

HeartvsHead · 07/02/2019 08:24

@Lauraliverpool only if they are shorter than 21 days I believe as there isn't enough time for the hormones to build up to sufficient levels to release an egg.

@ShortandSweer96 they reckon the sperm that is most likely to reach the egg is up and away within seconds of ejaculation but I agree it can't hurt giving the slower swimmers more of a chance!

HeartvsHead · 07/02/2019 08:32

Took my first ever opk today, negitive of course. My stupid 39 day cycle has made me drop behind you guys, I'm ages off fertile window most likely.

This was the oddest period ever. Lasted a full 7 days but never got heavy (most of the time just a liner and only used lightest tampons) and kept stopping and starting. Mine are usually 3 very brutal days of having to change heavy tampon every 2hrs so not sure if this is a good or bad sign... they only came back last Jan as was breast feeding and was on pill for years before DD so not sure if they are just settling down. Not 100% what normal is for me. Fingers crossed no more this year to find out!!

Lauraliverpool · 07/02/2019 09:37

@HeartvsHead thank you, just seen it down on the blood test form when I went. Mine are 24/25 days.

agteacht · 08/02/2019 21:36

@HeartvsHead you couldn't be pregnant could you? I mean do you think AF was the real deal or could it just be light bleeding?

I'm on CD13 today on a 38 day cycle so fertile window is still a while away (around 19 feb). Since I now know I have the prolactin issue it feels very very unlikely I will get a BFP this month. So may not make DH DTD as often as I made him last cycle 😂
Actually have my consultant appt on 19th too.

But have been half thinking about doing a fertility scan. Has anyone ever done one? Checks your womb lining etc, I was thinking of doing one after my ovulation date as would tell me if I ovulated and they do a progesterone test too. I know I have the prolactin consultant lady to see so I should just be patient but honestly I don't mind paying £100 or whatever o actually know if my bits are working!

ShortandSweet96 · 09/02/2019 06:32

Positive thoughts for both of you! It's fab that you are both having tests and getting to the bottom of it! Flowers

Got my peak in CBFM this morning ladies so going to attempt the 3 days in a row tactic! Got some red meat in for the hubby 😂

agteacht · 09/02/2019 12:13

Thanks @ShortandSweet96
Ooh good luck @Scottish1 !!!

Lauraliverpool · 09/02/2019 14:09

Oooh good luck @Scottish1! Thank you @ ShortandSweet96 saw the nurse at the doctor's yesterday for my b12 injection and she said my blood test results are in but she couldn't interpret what they meant I saw the date next to the results on the computer was the 5th of Feb and saw 5.6 something and abnormal, then in brackets it said anovulation cycle which I know means no ovulation took place, can't be sure if they were the results from the first blood test, the nurse said the doctor should be able to tell me more on Thursday, she said they may not send me for further blood tests and might possibly refer me to Liverpool women's to the fertility as I may need help to get pregnant again, if this is the case I've pretty much accepted that this may be the route I have to go down, will wait and see what the doctor says. X

Girls someone recommended these vitamins as she said the ones proceive from Holland and Barrett seemed to have high concentration of certain vitamins so I've been looking at these instead.

Right, back in fertile window and out for date night tonight, have told OH we need to do daily during the fertile window - it’s my birthday next month so would LOVE a BFP!

HeartvsHead · 09/02/2019 21:07

@agteacht don't think so. Took a test last week that was negative.

Finger crossed it happens for us all soon enough. Even with low or high levels of various things. Babies still happen!

DH works a lot of nights so I've banned him from working certain nights this month!

ShortandSweet96 · 10/02/2019 01:59

It's officially Sunday, predicted ovulation day. I'm hating the run up to the tww way more than the tww itself!Envy

@ShortandSweet96 the only bit I find I'm not counting days and watching calenders is the first few days of af. Count down to ovulation followed by count do to af/bfp. I've never been so aware of time!!!

tedsy · 10/02/2019 12:04

@HeartvsHead that's so true! I'm finding during fertile window is the time I'm calmest about things - I guess it's that feeling of being able to do something.

Scottish1 · 10/02/2019 16:06

Thanks @LauraLiverpool and @agteacht 2 down 2 to go. Hubby is doing well 😂

Scottish1 · 10/02/2019 16:06

Tww starts on Wednesday 😕

agteacht · 10/02/2019 16:38

I can't decide if I prefer the TWW or the wait to the fertile period. I think the TWW!!!
