Anybody starting their tww?
Mine starts today, my app says test on the 25th so I'm challenging myself not to test early this time!

Come join me for 14 days of symptom spotting and a healthy dose of moaning about mean AF.

Okay I'm about 10 days behind you so will be following your moves!

Lauraliverpool · 01/02/2019 12:11

@agteacht let me know how you get on when you go. X

agteacht · 01/02/2019 18:37

Will do! My husband did his sample and they told him results take two weeks...

HeartvsHead · 01/02/2019 20:39

Be good to get some answers!

How long do you try before seeing doctor? We have been trying since Sept but with DD we caught first month. DH reckons we should get checked out and lie to doctors if needs be to find out.

AF is playing and interesting game of hide and seek with me. Had nothing all day then a bit more spotting but red this afternoon so used a tampon and 4hrs later it's still clean. I wish she would just hurry up now! Plus now unsure as to when to count CD1 from now. Do I go from first spotting or when it's a proper period?

Lauraliverpool · 01/02/2019 22:40

My husband has said he would be prepared to get checked out if needed. Will wait and see what the next lot of bloods say and go from there.

Lauraliverpool · 01/02/2019 22:45

I've read a year of trying before you see a doctor but if been trying for 6 months and nothing and over 35 see doctor but don't know if that applies for when you're trying for another baby. The doctor said to give it 9 months of trying but with my history of miscarriage they would see me sooner. I've been counting cd1 when I see brown blood @HeartvsHead.

agteacht · 02/02/2019 01:04

I am 35, close to 36, and my husband 38. We have been together a long time (since 2007) and honestly just didn't start trying for so long. So at the end of the day if we left it too late that was a (lifestyle) choice we made (and will have to deal with).

We started trying in December 2016 but then I lost my dad very suddenly in January 2017 and all our plans went out the window because I went from wanting to have a baby to feeling huge guilt for not giving my dad the grandchild I wish I had and I know he would have loved. He was 59 when he died.

We started trying again in December 17 and I conceived immediately in January 18. Miscarried at 8 weeks, took about 3 months for my cycles to normalise so although I always feel we have been trying since then I know a lot of it has been guess work.

I guess it takes us all a long while. I know at the end we will all be fine. The hard bit is when we are so emotionally attached to the outcome and we have no control. But we will get there. X

Lauraliverpool · 02/02/2019 09:47

@agteacht so sorry to hear about your Dad and your miscarriage it's absolutely devastating when it happens. Totally get when you say about being emotionally attached to the outcome and hate that we don't have any control of the outcome. I think we you go through in life does make you stronger as a person. X

Scottish1 · 02/02/2019 11:18

Have you tested @HeartvsHead x

agteacht · 02/02/2019 14:37

Thanks @Lauraliverpool

Ooh are you testing @HeartvsHead?

Does everyone temp? Never managed to do it properly but might try it again this month.

ShortandSweet96 · 02/02/2019 15:06

I don't temp. Simply because I struggle massively to wake up in the mornings, OH has to come in and shake me 3 or 4 times before I properly wake up and get out of bed. Think I might have SAD lol as i only notice this behavioural change in the winter when it's cold and dark. In the summer I'm up at 7 ready to start the day feeling wife awake!
But no I don't think I could temp. Might try OPK this month though as would be useful to know him DTD at the right time.

HeartvsHead · 02/02/2019 16:12

Not tested as af came back again this morning. She normally arrives full force so to have two days of spotting beforehand is very unusual for me. It's also not nearly as heavy as normal but assuming that's just as it's a bit late.

I've ordered some OPKs to try this month.

Does anyone else work out their next due date each time af arrives or is it just me that tortures myself?!

Scottish1 · 02/02/2019 16:24

Sorry to hear that @HeartvsHead 😢 Fingers crossed for next month x

torypops · 02/02/2019 16:44

Hi ladies, I am 12 DPO AF due on Tuesday but a BFN ON A FRER test this morning. I have had horrendous sickness which I still have, sore hard nipples (which are not as bad today) and lots of white CM and that feeling where you feel wet (sorry TMI) this is third month TTC. Feel we are doing everything right but the BFP doesn't seem to want to come my way 😢

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 11:31

Hi @torypops Fingers crossed for you-just have to wait and see I suppose.

I have a question ladies, we started SMEP yesterday as was cycle day 8 (did at about midday) but this morning I have lots of EWCM. Ovulation test is low fertility and not meant to dtd again until tomorrow according to SMEP but do you think I should dtd today anyway due to EWCM?

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 11:33

I’ve also ordered some Ubiquinol as heard it can improve egg quality if you are older. Is anyone else taking this?

Also reading about baby aspirin but going to ask doctor about this first. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Lauraliverpool · 03/02/2019 12:59

@Scottish1 I've read about ubiquinol, never taken it but considering taking some other supplements once I get my blood test done again and have the results. Been looking at vitamin c, vitex (chaste tree berry) vitamin E is good for egg quality, ovulation, eating bananas, broccoli, lemons, oranges, dark leafy vegetables are also good too. Also read about baby aspirin too but going to run that past my doctor. X

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 13:19

@LauraLiverpool Yes, I’ve been eating lots of berries and sweet potatoes too. I’m supposed to be having the ‘I’m not trying’ attitude this month but not going to plan 😂

Lauraliverpool · 03/02/2019 14:04

@Scottish1 I need to increase my fruit and veg intake but I like chocolate too much! 😂 Never goes to plan about the 'not trying attitude' hubby been asking me if I've done ovulation test which I've been doing got peak today but feel like it's a false sense of hope seeing that reading cause until a week on Tuesday I won't know if I'm ovulating or not so not putting a lot of trust in the test until then. X

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 15:20

That’s so annoying for you @LauraLiverpool but at least you’re finding out. Who knows, same might be happening to me....😩

ShortandSweet96 · 03/02/2019 15:30

Promised myself I wouldn'looking at my app, but I checked but today and now I'm subconsciously counting down until ovulation day. I'm so mad at myself! I wanted no fuss this month.

I'm willing myself not to be baby mad this month, just let it happen Short! 🙃

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 15:32

I’m the same @ShortandSweet 😂 Going to go to yoga this week to try and chill out!

Lauraliverpool · 03/02/2019 16:30

Definitely @Scottish1 what makes you think that? X

Scottish1 · 03/02/2019 18:14

Probably being pessimistic thinking something is wrong... just find it weird that I keep getting faint lines on tests. I suppose that wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t ovulated. Maybe I am lacking in progesterone. We’ll see I suppose x

HeartvsHead · 03/02/2019 19:35

@ShortandSweet96 I think there is only so much you can turn it off once you actively decide you are trying.

@Scottish I'm a little jealous you are at the ewcm stage already. Long cycles suck. I think the opk is probably more reliable than CM though. I'd maybe dtd if in the mood but if not wait. So hard to not make sex too regimented!

I went through real phases of being chilled and obsessed this month. This is the first month I have not had a full on sob when my period started though, I was more pissed than upset. Opks should be arriving tomorrow so new month new obsession!

Oh the fun of having both tampons and conception vitamins in my shopping basket today... hopefully both for the last time this time!!
