Im interested to know when people take Pregnancy Test? Do people test early or wait untill a missed period? Ive tested early (3 days before period due) and sadly its come back negative! Feel sad & upset, another month & im out! Was hoping it would of happened again by now. MC in August. Just after people thoughts is it worth the wait till after a period is missed? Or would the heartache still be the same?

Hi there
Until af arrives, there is a chance you can be pregnant. It depends when you implanted as it’s from this point that hcg hormone begins. That’s why some people with early implantation May test earlier and get a positive, and those who implant later may not test positive for a little later. Plus, every baby produces different amounts of hcg, so there is really no way of telling.
It’s either you test positive or af arrives eventually.
All sensible people would say don’t test until day your period is due, HOWEVER, none of us seem sensible when trying to conceive Grin multiple pregnancy tests Blush no matter how hard we try not to.
I’ve tested positive both before my period and also not until it’s due so you’re still in with a chance.

I always test early. Only on cheap internet ones, I save the clear blue till my periods late! Sorry about your MC.

Rainbow714 · 11/01/2019 10:07

Thank you for your replies, yeah im just using the cheapies of Amazon. I guess im just inpatience and hoping to see a positive but then im gutted when i dont especially when ive had a positive before my period bk in August. TTC is stressful, im using an app to follow so as soon as it says i can test i do....! Will wait untill AF shows up. X

No need to wait till AF arrives, its arrived. 3 days early, which is unusual. Another month out & feeling sad x

I'm sorry rainbow, that's a kick in the teeth.

I try and hold out till at least expected day of period, otherwise if I test early and get a negative I hang on to the hope of it having been too early to test and it gets me nowhere!

Rainbow714 · 13/01/2019 19:16

So the weird thing is, i thought AF had started Friday - But ive just had on & off spotting since then. Not due on till Tuesday, weird cycle this is!

Rainbow714 · 13/01/2019 19:47

Personally for me, I take them 4 days after AF is due because nothing shows up before then. Both pregnancies I've had to do this, both times I've got positives. Any other testing dates have been negative.

MyBabyBoyBlue · 13/01/2019 19:54

I took mine two days after I was due and got what looked like an evap line. Took another the following day and had an unequivocal BFP

MyDcAreMarvel · 13/01/2019 19:57

Sounds like implantation bleeding not a period I would test again tomorrow.

happychange · 13/01/2019 20:03

Yes I was going to say implantation bleeding as well. When I got pregnant, I got a very light bleeding and thought it was my period, so I didn't even think that I was pregnant until about 8-9 weeks!

Rainbow714 · 13/01/2019 20:18

I tested Friday and it was negative then started spotting, but its literally been on & off all weekend. Ive never had implantation bleeding before, so it never crossed my mind really.

Rainbow714 · 13/01/2019 20:38

I always assumed you got implantation bleeding well before your period was due, wouldnt it of come up poistive Friday when i tested though?

MyDcAreMarvel · 13/01/2019 20:42

I had implantation three days before I was due. Negative test until two days later.

Ozziewozzie · 13/01/2019 20:52

Not necessarily to implantation bleeding.
Say ovulation is around day 14ish, egg fertilised around here. Fertilised egg travels to uterus. This can take anywhere from 6ish days to much longer up to 12. Implantation occurs. Could be as late as cycle day 24ish. Different with different people and pregnancies. The bleed is from the embryo embedding into uterus. I’m guessing that the bleeding can occur at this time or for a few day after.
Plus, the blood travels out of you. I’ve had early implantation bleed and a later one.
It is very confusing.
Don’t forget this is all assuming you ovulated on day 14. Lots of people don’t. So therefore it could move you on a bit. Depends on your cycles.

Rainbow714 · 13/01/2019 21:59

Thank you for taking time to reply, dont want to get my hopes up as pretty used to negatives now! If there is no change, will test Tuesday! X

Did you take another test rainbow?

Silkyanduna · 15/01/2019 17:36

Deaddoorpost I’m the same. I have put it down to the fact I must ovulate late. Also my 12 scan always shows the baby as less than the doctor make it based on missed period so would back my theory bout ovulating late up.

Rainbow714 · 15/01/2019 17:51

No diddnt need to, AF arrived 🙁

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/01/2019 17:58

Ahh am sorry rainbow. Hope next month brings better news. I am currently ttc, on cycle 12 with a miscarriage in June.

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/01/2019 17:59

To clarify my implantation bleed was with my ds2 not the miscarriage.

DeadDoorpost · 16/01/2019 23:01

@Silkyanduna my scan put me ahead 4 days so either my body just doesn't produce much hcg or something went wrong somewhere 😂
