Conception

When's the best time to get pregnant? Use our interactive ovulation calculator to work out when you're most fertile and most likely to conceive.

Does slightly late ovulation mean I need to wait longer to test?

Hi all. I think I ovulated day 19 of a 31 day cycle so potentially a bit on the late side? Am I still likely to get a positive result with first response early response if I am pregnant and test day before AF due? (AF due Sunday). Had some stitches in my side yesterday (implantation??) few minor stomach cramps bit of a flemmy mouth (!) but nothing else symptom wise. Thank you

What cd do you normally ovulate? I'd wait until cd32 at least! Later ov = later af (or later bfp).

Thanks think I ovulated on day 19 normally have 31 day cycle which would mean AF arriving Sunday

But do you ov cd 19 (did you get a positive opk then or going off signs) most other cycles??

And my other advice about the earliest I'd test still stands. There is a certain amount of time that has to pass after ov for you to get a positive (if pregnant).

Thank you. I did use the clear blue digital tests (whole pack from day 14) but didn’t get a smiley face. Did test quite early in the day so may have got the LH surge later in the day and missed it? Did get what felt like potentially ovulation pains day 19 and had had fertile CM day before so could match up. Got similar signs previous month on day 16 but wasn’t using any OPKs then. Not temp tracking yet but may start if doesn’t work out this month.

The digi OV tests by CB are designed for morning use. If you'd tested the day after that's when you may have got the smiley face.

But yes, late OV means later testing by CD, but not by DPO. Stick to DPO for your testing and wait unless at least 12-14 if possible ignoring the fact that I always tested from 9-10 DPO!

Thank you that’s helpful.
