TTC#2 - losing the romance!

Hi there,

DH and I have started half-heartedly TTC#2. Due to DD having some recent medical issues we'd been having a bit of a...... dry spell. DH is really keen on the idea of another little one, but we're both often exhausted and when it gets to evening and DD is finally in bed it really doesn't feel like a romantic moment! This was month number 1 and we weren't hugely committed to it, and on one occasion DH just really wasn't in the mood because he said he felt like it was a duty rather than for fun like it used to be.

Any ideas? He doesn't tend to keep track of dates so I'm hoping to make him feel like it's at least partly spontaneous! Lots of people seem to have a 2 or 3 year age gap, so it must be possible to have some romance with a toddler around!

Get in there early! Once toddler is in bed pour some wine and get to bed yourself.
I find I can be in the mood during the day, but by the end of the evening I am shattered and would rather just go to sleep!

Think I might need to schedule it . There are a few things that are tricky with DD around so tend to wait till after she is in bed, which pushes our bedtime late! Perhaps the dishwasher will just have to be missed occasionally!

I hope things will be better when DD is in better health, which should be by the end of the month as she has an operation scheduled. Perhaps then it’ll be easier to find the right time

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now, I hope your daughter's op goes well and home life gets a bit easier.

I don't think there's anything wrong with scheduling it and the dishes can certainly wait!
