Have I been an idiot - hottubs and TTC

I am due to ovulate today, and am currently away with family and spent about 20-30 mins each day in the hot tub today and the last 3 days.
We are TTC.

Just stumbled across something online tht suggests ive buggered are chances this month. And potentially the next three as it effects his sperm for up to 3 months.

Please someone tell me this isnt true. Im absolutely gutted Ive caused yet more delays for us when we’re so desperate!!

No expert but I’ve never heard this. I’d relax. It doesn’t seem likely that raising body temp could really significantly reduce your chance of ttc, and certainly not for months afterwards. What about all the men that have regular saunas, exercise regularly, go running etc? Relaxing will have a beneficial effect for you both, enjoy your time away and the hot tub! Good luck.

Relax. His sperm count may be a little lowered by it, but not hugely and it only takes one! Getting the timing of DTD right and the quality of the egg (which you can't control) are far more important and neither is affected by hot tubbing.

Just jumping in to say that husband and I used a hottub a fair few times during the month we conceived, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I never even thought of that! We’ve been in the hot tub a few times this month. I think it’ll be fine, try not to worry.

@Manycatsandallthegin with man its to do with the body's temperature, for sperm to be healthy the temperature needs to be lower than the body hence why testicle are on 'the outside' of the body. The sperm you will use TTC this month is has been there a while so you will be fine! Don't stop living your life because your TTC :)
