I know risks are much higher but just wondering if anyone has been lucky and not experienced m/c and had a successful pregnancy..

My friends mom had her 5th child at 43. All was fine. I also know a few other moms who had babies at 40. But not sure if they had miscarriage. I do know moms who had miscarriage in late 20s and 30s

Do you mean a successful first pregnancy in your 40s?

I had my ds at 42. I was told that I would have loads of health problems, but I sailed through. It gave me a new lease of life and I've never regretted it.

I had my DC at 41 and 43, very straightforward. I did have a pre-12 wk MC between those 2 pregnancies, but unfortunately not unusual at any age. I think one of the issues with planning a pregnancy in your early 40s is that if you struggle to conceive there is less time to identify and resolve any fix-able problems.

I had DC at 40. Got pregnant in first week of trying and no problems. Lots of friends are having babies without any trouble (to my knowledge at least) in their early-mid 40s. It can happen Flowers

Yes, I conceived my son (first child) naturally in 4 or 5 months aged 40, gave birth aged 41 to a 100% healthy little boy. My husband was 43 (these days, they say the husband's age can also have an influence). Our son scored 9 on his immediate APGAR and 10 out of 10 on his subsequent APGAR, and he's passed all tests with flying colours since (long may it last!). Good luck x

Not personally, I've had miscarriages since turning 40, but I know people who have. Unfortunately loss is more common in our age group, but not necessarily a certainty

Yes! Started TTC at just 41 and got pregnant with my DC after 4-5 months- everything about my pregnancy and baby was perfect. It seemed very easy. I even got pregnant again on the very first try aged 42 a few months after giving birth. However I did lose that one at 10 weeks and have been TTC for 9 months with no luck. I'm now 43. I think 40, 41 is maybe a lot easier than age 42 plus....but that's just my experience. Possibly it's luck. Wishing you plenty of that!

Thanks for all the comments. It's good to hear it can happen. I am petrified of m/c though which has been putting me off trying for another at this age

Nice to hear success stories!
