Getting pregnant on long cycles

Hi everyone! I’m looking for some advice/reassurance about being able to get pregnant on long cycles.

Since having my son 19 months ago, my cycles have been between 45 and 58 days. I did have one where it was 74 days - not really sure why! Anyway, I was really just wondering if there was anyone else here that has long cycles like me and still got pregnant?

My last 3 cycles have been 53 or 54 days so I’m guessing I’m still ovulatiing, just a lot later. This is my second cycle trying to conceive and I’m now in the TWW although not 100% sure if and when I ovulated as I never got a positive ovulation stick but they are light now so I’m guessing if I’ve ovulated then it’s passed and I’m in the TWW.

Really, I’m looking for some sort of reassurance that it’s still possible to have a pregnancy on such long cycles. I’ve had a blood test to check my hormones and all came back clear.

Me with my second. I was having irregular and long cycles. I used the Clue app to track and when I was in the time I should be ovulating, I used cheap internet OPK strips twice a day. I think it was this that helped me to catch the dark line that showed I was about to ovulate. I tested every morning at 10 ish and afternoon at 3. I realised that although my cycles were long, my luteal phase was short-about 9 days. Even so, I got pregnant by month 6/7.

Yes, possible 😊 my cycles are ridiculous, 45-120 days (might be more, stopped counting!) but I've conceived 5 times in the last 5 years, resulting in nearly 3yo DS and now being 27 weeks pregnant. When TTC DS it really got me down and I used traditional chinese medicine to regulate my cycles as Western medicine couldn't find anything wrong, and that reduced my cycle length so gave me more opportunities!

I used ovulation sticks and tracked my temperatures to find out when I was ovulating as it felt like time was slipping away and my cycles are so irregular I never had any idea what was happening otherwise. Happy to answer any questions!

Thank you! It’s reassuring to hear that you got pregnant on long cycles too. I was doing my opks this month but I only got dark test lines, not a positive line though, so either I didn’t ovulate in which case our efforts were pointless lol, or I just missed the surge. I usually know when I’m near ovulation as I get EWCM so we just BDd every other evening around that time so I’m just hoping we caught the egg if one was released! 😊

@Suzie2287 i hope you don’t mind me joining this thread much later. I’m TTC #1 and my cycles are really irregular and long (currently CD75) this is my second surge using OPK’s with no AF in between so finding it all really confusing. I’m hoping all worked out well for you? Just looking for reassurance really!
