Hi All

We’ve just started ttc. I’m 40 and this is my first attempt. I’ve read up a bit, have been taking folic acid and am tracking my ovulation but just wondering if there is anything else I should do/ think of?

Xx

Sex. As often as humanly possible. I'd go for every other day as an ideal.

Good luck.

Hi Thanks littlemimosa I will do. I’m feeling very excited but a bit alone on this all. My partner is very supportive but my mum and friends seem non plused about us starting to try and reluctant to talk about it. Perhaps cos they already have their own kids or grandchildren and don’t realise or have forgotten how huge and exciting this feels esp after years of thinking I’d never have a chance of being a mum.

People have weird ideas about pregnancy after 40. As though suddenly at age 40 overnight your fertility and risks drop off a cliff?!
You have to learn to let it bounce off you and listen to your own instinct and intuition.
It’s soooo exciting trying for a baby. No wonder you feel the way you do:)
