Hi all,

Just looking for some advice. I came off the mini pill, been on various different contraceptives for years, in the middle of November. Nothing has happened - no break through bleeding, no period, nothing! I am starting to worry a little as it has been 6 weeks now. Does anyone have any advice at all or been through the same? I had hoped to get into a normal routine of cycles etc before ttc, probably this time next year but I wanted to leave plenty time for cycle etc!

Thanks in advance Smile

No advice or anything but I'm in a similar position. I stopped taking my pill almost 5 weeks ago now and no bleeding and I'm not pregnant. I thought I'd get at least a breakthrough bleed but absolutely nothing.
I was on desogestrel so curious to hear too.

Took 3 months for my period to return post mini-pill. Don't worry.

My period took around 2 and a half months to return.

If you have been having unprotected sex do a pregnancy test, the one thing most doctors fail to tell anything is that just as you stop the pill can be your most fertile time the same hormones are used and then stopped to get animals pregnant in veterinary medicine.

My periods took about 2 months to comeback after coming off the pill. It can take a while for your body to get back to normal but if you’re concerned I’d speak to your doctor.

Thanks everyone for your responses.... seems like this isn’t anything to worry about! Just need to wait it out I bit I guess!

I came off the mini pill on 13th September, no withdrawal bleed, noticed my boobs were huge and very sore so did a test on 15th October and got a BFP. Currently 14 weeks pregnant.

Good luck and I hope you get the outcome you're hoping for x

JBCG - wow! Congratulations! I am a terrible planner, I always want everything to happen exactly how I plan it which is probably why this is annoying me!

@Twiggywinkle13 thank you!

I'm the same! Spoke with my GP before coming off the pill and he advised it usually takes 6-18 months to get pregnant .. so DP and I were planning for roughly a year away .. nice little early surprise but definitely wasn't in my immediate plan!

JBCG · 29/12/2018 12:46

@Twiggywinkle13 sorry if I missed it in this thread but have you take a test?

Twiggywinkle13 · 29/12/2018 21:07

sorry! I didn’t actually say - I haven’t - but have been v careful since stopping the pill! That’s reassuring to know what your doctor said also.
