Clomid - NHS vs. going private

Hi everyone,

I am turning 37 next month and having been TTC for a year. The problem is that I have irregular periods. My cycle ranges from 40 to 65 days. Before that I was on contraceptive pills for 3 years.

I have an appointment with GP tomorrow. How could I go about getting clomid prescribed?

Anyone managed to get clomid privately? I work in London and am up for visiting any specialist clinics in London as well.

Beg advice. Ta.

They will want to send you for tests before you get clomid I think. I've had lots of bloods, a hycosy, DH has sperm analysis and I'm on metformin for PCOS. I suspect clomid will be what we are given next. It can vary so much by GP, no real way to know until you go. Lots of GPs won't even prescribe metformin for PCOS without consultant permission.
