It’s when you conceive but it doesn’t implant properly, and you may get an early BFP followed by a BFN and AF. You might only know if you do an early test

I only realised recently that technically a 'chemical pregnancy' is the loss of a pregnancy before 5 weeks gestation, when it officially becomes a clinical pregnancy. They often happen before someone knows they are pregnant.

A very early miscarriage often before it's too early to tell you were pregnant. I've been pregnant 4 times and have 4 children, but about 2 months before I conceived my second child, I was 6 days late and got an extremely faint line on a test, the next day I came on period but vomiting and had chills. I think this may have been a pregnancy loss, but I will never know and I don't often think about it.

I think a chemical is loss of a pregnancy before its possible to detect the pregnancy on an ultrasound, so around 5 weeks.

You'd know about it if you got a positive pregnancy test but then your period came. It happened to me, I had a faint line on a test and felt pregnant but then my period came bang on time.

I got a feint positive pregnancy test before my period was due then my period came a few days later. That’s a chemical pregnancy
