TTC while breastfeeding?

Anyone with any successes? DS is 10 months at the moment so still BF morning, bedtime and nighttime awakenings (3 at most). I express in the day at work. My periods haven't come back yet. I assume they won't until I stop expressing in the day.
Hoping to be TTC in 4/5 months, just wonder whether breastfeeding will prevent it.

It does for some. I fed DS until he was just turned 2. By then we were down to a feed a few times a week. I got pregnant 4 weeks after we completely stopped, despite being on the pill!

Breastfeeding can reduce fertility, but it’s not impossible to conceive while breastfeeding.

DS3 was conceived when DS2 was around 2.5 yrs and still breastfeeding. My periods came back at around 13-14 months with both DS2 and DS3, despite breastfeeding in demand in the daytime.

I also know a few women who accidentally got pregnant while breastfeeding, before their periods returned.

I was still breastfeeding my two year 8 month old when I started trying to conceive and breastfeeding didn’t make it easy. My cycles were long (30-40 days and some months nothing) and my luteal phase short (9 days). I tracked using ovulation indicator strips as it was so difficult to predict otherwise.

There is a difference between being able to conceive and having your full fertility back.
Your body needs to be able to manage the pregnancy hormones properly and have rebuilt all the stores of vitamins and minerals and iron you need to sustain a pregnancy and have a healthy baby.

I had three early miscarriages whilst ttc and one healthy baby born as soon as I ttc not breastfeeding. I’m not saying there’s def a link - some people seem to be fine. Just research it properly I think

Mine is 11 months and periods still haven't returned. I go 8 hours without feeding during the day (back at work) and still no sign.

Hey im ttc and breastfeeding my 15 month old. My period returned a few days after his first birthday! But i still feed him regularly through the day and night.
I havent really worked out when i ovulate so kinda just winging it lol. I wanna be more precise but if im honest it confuses me a bit and i dont know where to start with ovulation tests!

Also maybe tmi but one of the struggles i find is actually having the time to have sex! Im co sleeping so we get up when baby does and my partner works shifts so finishes at 10 most nights so tbh im a bit knackered and not in the mood when we have the chance lol.

I was conceived while my mum was breastfeeding, we’re 11.5 months apart.

I conceived DC2 when DC1 was 7.5 months and I was still breastfeeding a lot. My periods did return when I was only 10 weeks PP with DC1 though! I think it’s all pot luck really!x

My aunt believed breastfeeding stopped you getting pregnant which is why my cousins are 11 months apart.

I got pregnant the first month trying, while still breastfeeding my 2.5 y.o. (who was a total boob monster and still fed multiple times a day and some nights). However my period had come back at six months PP so my cycles were normal (for me) by the time we started TTC.

I really wasn't expecting to fall so quickly, as did half expect that BF would still have some influence on my fertility.
